Received an email from Rosie tonight regarding which kind of petals I want on the aisle, tables, and bags. Our colors are black and white and violet... but the petals don't come in the shade we're using. I need some help deciding. I like the idea of the blue delphinium and the lavender rose petals - maybe with the two it will look more purpley? Should I use white?

We're doing a tussy mussy bouquet, but these are the

THESE ARE MORE THE COLORS OF THE WEDDING, but luckily I don't think we're using them much for the ceremony (more the athome reception)...I think the only purple that might stand out will be DFs tie...

I would use white, but a lot of them. I think it would look very pretty, and make the blues and purples in the rest of your floral pop!

Have you thought about suggesting pansies? They're closer to the color you're wanting and I think they're pretty inexpensive. Worth a shot! :thumbsup2

DO the petals come in any shade of purple...just do the purple and white petals.

thanks gals -- but, when I told rosie our colors were purple, she said those were the closest they could do. So, my only choices are those four. I think the dark blue might be the closest I can get to the shade...darkness wise... but the lavender ones at least look a little purpley. This gives me a headache... :headache:

Oh so you can use the lavender...I say go for the lavender!

When you say petals to go in bags... does that mean you want people to throw them at you? If so, can you send me a PM as to how much that is, because I've been considering doing that too. Thanks :)

Sure - I'll just post though, I was quoted at $3.50 per bag, which isn't horrible. They are petals in a little bag sachets (I know there are some girls with pics of them on here) and then they toss the flowers during your recession.

Oh, that's not horrible. I'm always surprised when things for DFTW don't cost an arm and a leg. :) Thanks for posting.

I saw this one picture somewhere where they had a white aisle runner with flower petals running down the outside of it. Have you thought about putting the white petals down the middle (like a flower aisle runner) and putting a variety of all the purples in the different flowers down the outside as an accent?

BUMP

I think it's unanimous that I should use the meritim lavender ones and white -- should I include the dark blue ones to set the tone? Because our purple is more of a royal violet color, I'm worried about the lightness in the lavender clashing -- I forgot my bridesmaids bouquets have a tiny bit of purple in them too--

We had some of the same issues - our colors were in shades of blues & purples - according to my BEO Rose used the following varieties:

Allure Roses
Avila Purple Lisianthus
Periwinkle Hydrangeas
Dark Blue Delphinium
Stephanotis
Dusty Miller

Here is my bouquet:

For the staged exit she added some carnation petals becuase she said they would have a much more vibrant color & show up better in those pics:

Rose is the best & I know/knew ZIP, ZILCHO, NADA about flowers
