This thread is dedicated to the horrid excuse for an organization, People for the 'ethical' treatment of animals (at least that's my opinion of them). Mainly I just want to know people's opinions about these guys.
For those of you who don't know what PeTA is, it's a group of of crazy vegan/vegetarian animal rights extremists. They campaign against pretty random organizations that they don't like. Here are their current crazy campaigns:
Mars Candy Kills because Mars funds 'deadly' experiments on guinea pigs.
Bloody Burberry because they use fur in some of their products. Now, I'm against fur, but I looked at the Burberry website and they have a whopping total of two items with fur on them (fur trimmed coats).
Petsmart Cruelty because they did an undercover investigation and found that Petsmart stores that sell pets don't give their hamsters and parakeets veterinary care and that a lot of hamsters died of wet tail (an extremely common disease in hamsters).
and Kentucky Fried Cruelty, because of their bloody buckets of doom.
On their website they make it seem like all these companies are just extremely evil. What's even sadder is that they aim these stupid campaigns at animal loving young people. They even have an area of their site aimed at elementary school kids, and one of the things in it says 'Friends don't chain friends' about how it's mean to let your dog out on a chain.
Not to mention, they're hypocrites. They are totally against animal testing even for medicine, and against using animal products in anything. But yet, one of their Vice Presidents uses a medicine that was tested on dogs and contains animal products (I think it's pigs blood, but I'm not sure about that).
They're against the no-kill act in animal shelters and they think that the whole idea of pets is cruel. Oh yeah, and zoos are also works of evil.
I could type all day listing reasons why PeTA is a stupid organization. But now, what are your opinions?

Sorry, just had to let my laugh out. That's just ridiculous sounding.
