Pet photos and chat

14may28.jpg

So a few pages back someone posted that this thread reminded them of how much they hate cats...well, I'm the opposite, I'm REALLY SCARED of dogs! I never had a bad experience or anything, I'm just scared of them!

But I have to admit that this little doggy face made me smile! He is beyond adorable, I wouldn't mind having one like him!

So I thought I'd add my kitty photos (until I'm brave enough to get a dog!):

New039.jpg

Magic is the black one and Hershey is the brown one - I hardly have any pictures of them for some reason, I didn't realise it until I went to look for them! These two came from the same litter and were shelter cats...they just turned 3!

New012.jpg

And Cheeto Frito, who is the naughtiest cat I've ever come across! His favorite thing to do is sit on a high surface and push everything off, and just watch it fall. This morning he pushed my wallet (complete with two $100 bills) into his water fountain. Sigh. He was a stray we took in, and will be 2 in August.

wish i knew how to post pics of my dogs on here....when i hit the link to insert photos it asks for URL link...don't have a clue after that.
Which photo hosting site are you using? Photobucket?

The URL is the "address" of your picture. PB lists the URL in several different forms under each picture.

To post here, you need one that has image brackets surrounding it, like this
The last address under the picture has the image brackets already there for you. Alternatively, you can get the image brackets to wrap around your URL using the mountain icon above (or type them in yourself).

I've been meaning to respond to this, tazgirl.

Was on PB this morning so thought I'd pull up some pictures for you. This was how some of my dogs' colors "evolved".

You can see they lightened up quite a bit!

(Gosh, I still miss my other two so much...)

Wow thanks so much...Yes there is quite the difference in color as they age isnt there...my Harley looked just like your current girl as a puppy! That is so cute. You have helped me out so much because it is very hard to find pics that show them as puppies and then the color as an adult so I am very greatful! :goodvibes:thumbsup2 I know that he has a long ways to go before final coloring but I think its neat to see how they change as they grow. Its like a totally different looking dog in the end but they are so fun to watch. I was just noticing how some more brown is coming in on Harley on his back legs so he might be getting the saddle yet...His mom was more brown but I never did see his father to see his color. I will be happy no matter his color though because he is a great dog:love:

I feel safer in my house as well knowing that I have my GS with me. Its like a huge confidence boost for me knowing he is here...although nothing is ever 100 percent safe but I would be scared knowing my neighbors got broken into...but happy to know that maybe just maybe my dog will be the reason why I wont be:hug:

i love showing off my babies!!!

first, my sweetheart, my Marea (like Mario, but with an "a" at the end). :lovestruc She's MY first dog, instead of just my parent's dogs. i took her from my friends, whom i love dearly, but they were not good pet owners, unfortunately. It was part inexperience & ignorance, and then her breed...she's part ChowChow, part something, but is definitely all Chow in personality.

When i got her, all of the fur on the back of her legs was missing. My friends thought it was because she had fleas, and had been washing her vigorously with flea shampoo. :scared: In reality, it was just because she was so bored and so nervous, from not being walked and cared for, and living in a chaotic household with no clear leadership. Within two weeks of me getting her, it was growing back...it just took a lot of love and three walks a day!

She still has pretty major behavioral issues, because she wasn't socialized with humans or other animals properly. But it's truly amazing how much better she's gotten in the 2 1/2ish years i've had her. We've come a looong way, and she's my little (semi...mostly, haha) success story.

SO...without further ado...

Marea Jane

froggygrrrl, she looks just like your Scully! i love all of your babies; i'm obsessed with Chows now.

Puffy tail!! it looks like i took a crimping iron to it. i, uh, did not. This is one of her favorite spots, looking down the stairway of the backporch, over the entire backyard and part of the driveway. She's very much my little sentinel.

We also have Maggie (11 yo purebred chocolate lab, my mom's first furbaby):

Rubbing herself on my scarf...she rubs herself on my hair and clothes, i think she's trying to convince my mom that she's human like me! (And thus, deserves the same dinner i get  )

and Mazel Tov, the Wazzle Dog...also known as Molly, a.k.a. THE WORST DOG EVER...no really. :rotfl: She smells SO bad, from both ends, is a complete SPAZZ even at age 8ish, has absolutely no concept of personal space, humps our couch pillows even though she's a girl, is all dandruffy and sheds tons, and actually ran into my mom so hard that she tore her meniscus and required surgery; my MOM did, that is...WORST. DOG. EVER. Her only redeeming quality is that she is a cuddlebug, and unlike our other two, she IS aware that she is a dog, not human or otherwise. If she wasn't so darn cute...

her front legs are wayyy to short for her.

at Christmas...she wore the bow for HOURS, she had no idea it was there. :rotfl2:

Our cat Larry, about a year old. He's such a gorgeous boy, he kind of looks like a bengal. He's quite the talker!!

...but wait! There's more!!

At my dad's house, we have two 15ish year old kitties who i don't have any pictures of, they are Love & Scaredy Cat.

And we have two Great Danes! Yah...it's a whole lotta dog. And they're pretty small!
i don't have very good pictures of them, though.

8 year old Lucy. Danes don't live for very long, so she'll be going soon. :sad1: She's scared of the camera so i had to be sneaky and get this with my phone.

and BOOMER!! He's actually a GD/English Mastiff mix. Yeah. It's a WHOLE LOTTA dog.
(bonus: me!)

Lucy's in the background here. Note height of dining room table, then height of dogs. It's fun eating dinner with your dog panting (LITERALLY) in your ear.

okay...i'm done now!! But i'm sure you all understand. i'm not a kid person...i'm an animal person, all the way!!

Holy Cow, kaffita!! :earseek: How many pets do you have? :rotfl:

They are beautiful. And I love Marea (the name)!

(In my best Boston accent) Wicked Cool!

I love pet threads! I love the pictures of all the beautiful pets!

Here is my youngest, Kali. She is 9 months old now. She is a Shiba Inu.

This is Kona, he is 18 months old and also a Shiba Inu.

This is Little, he is 2 years old. We called him Little Guy while trying to think of a name and he thought that was his name so now we just call him Little.

misc009.jpg

and finally this is Bob, we have had him 7 years and think he is probably about 8 or 9 years old.

both of mine will be getting a bath this weekend and nail trims, I'm sure they are going to be thrilled with me ;)

I almost got Simon Kitty to pose for a picture. Almost. He looks pretty ticked off about the papparazi in the 1st one :lmao:

DSCN0246-1.jpg

The 2nd, well....Simon is better known (affectionately of course) as Fat Boy, Porky or Lard A-- you can see why here. That's 22# of lovable blubber there  :sad2:

DSCN0243-1.jpg

While I'm at it, good thoughts please for my little Petey. He has Lyme disease and is starting antibiotics. He's pretty sick and of course, Mommy's very worried :sad1:

Kaffity, you've got some great pets! Chows can be tough & I know that they have a huge amount of undercoat. I'm so glad that yours have such a nice home :).

Can I ask what Molly gets fed? Because it sounds to me like she may have a food allergy (the smell, the dandruff & the excessive shedding). After trying several different foods for my rescue rottie we settled on Canidae, which is a premium food. It costs more but you feed the dog less because there's no fillers (and as a result, less poop). She has no doggie smell whatsoever, not even dog breath :rotfl:. Seriously, not even the room clearing gas that my last rottie had. No dandruff either. And while Amber sheds (it's what rotties do for the other 359 days a year that they're not blowing their coats) it's easy to manage with a rubber curry. Amber gets a bath once a year to help with the spring coat blowing but that's it (unless she rolls in something funky). The girl does not smell at all!

The pillow humping is a dominance thing...Molly's just letting the couch know who's boss :lmao:.

I'm a photography addict :goodvibes , so pics and descriptions of my lovely furkids can be found here:
