Pet peeves what really annoys you?

No. Don't apologize. You have very right to be angry. You should be angry. I hate homophobia more than anything. Alot of my friends are gay/lesbian/bi and they're some of the best people I know. So when people say such cruel things about homosexuals. I dunno, I just get real fired up.
I'm glad someone else shares shares the same opinion on this.

exactly. a lot of my friends are the same way. or a lot of my friends (including me) are very affectionate and like to give hugs or kisses on the cheek. it shows how much we do love each other, even if we are friends. but every time we do, people stare, people yell, people make horrible comments. but im not one to shut my mouth and let them. i have the right to tell the leaders of the GSA commitee at school what this teacher has said. i really couldn't care about "ruining her career". this teacher is only 24, thinks she's black but is white (im not trying to be mean...its really scary...), and is more immature than i am. i could teach her class for her. she was stupid enough to tell us that she could lose her job, especially to those of us in GSA or fighting for sexual rights.

besides- most anime fans to have more of an open-mind anyhow. not to say others dont, but we have a more sense of acceptance. besides, they are some of the nicest people ive ever met. theyre mature, and accepting of anything that someone could hurl at them.

but another pet peeve would have to be when people think its "cool" to be bisexual. people really ARE like that, and i think its a little bit ridiculeish to be "oh its cool to be bi" same thing with "its cool to be black/white/asian/hispanic. why cant everyone be proud of who they are, and not try to be someone else? its because the media puts out that "this ethinicity, this style, this language, is cool. and everything else just isnt."

i honestly was just going to say that. that is above and beyond my biggest pet peeve. just this week in my american history class it happened. my teacher likes to hold debates sometimes, and we really like it. i mean, i guess it makes us feel important cuz now we're juniors and we know what the heck theyre talking about XD. anyway, she gave us a list of stuff like gangs, the legalization of marajuana, abortion, the legal drinking age, wellfare, and of course homesexuality. and i just said, this is a class of juniors and as soon as she said that nearly everyone went "ewwwwwwww!" i nearly stood up and said something but i just shut up.

some of the kids said "the government cant tell you who you can love" and "they can take away a lot of things, but they can't take away the happiness youd feel with someone. this is supposed to be america." blahblahblah. but then my teacher said this:

"well...this is just my opinion. in 1st semester i saw two girls kissing in the hallway outside my door. i told them that it was disgusting and they had better get out my hallway." and no one said a word. we all sort of...stared at her in shock until someone said "cant you get in trouble for that?" and she said "oh i can lose my job for it. its discrimination against a student, but i dont care, i find it disgusting. if a boy and a girl walked into my class holding hands, id think it was cute, but if two boys walked into my classroom holding hands i would probably send them down to the office."

i cant tell you how angry i was leaving that classroom. i hate this teacher now for that. honestly, i cannot stand the discrimnation against gays and lesbians just because they love someone. its ridiculously childish.

XD now im all fired up and defensive now. sorry to ramble guys! :flower3:

I can't agree with you more. I know alot of gay/bi/lesbian people, and they are some of the best friends I've ever made. I don't look at tehm any different then before I (or they, themselves) knew they were gay. They are my friends, and thats all that matters.

No One has any right at all to say taht I can only marry certain people, or that I can only like or love certain people. No one has that right, but me. And when they take away that freedom, the goverment is undermining everything that it was built upon and stands for. Because no matter how you slice it, we are a nation today because we wanted to make our own choices and not have someon etelling us what to do.

We got rid of slavery.
We let women vote.
And abortions are legal.

Those things weren't thought about when Jefferson was writing the constitution. Tehy couldn't imagine a woman getting an abortion or voting.
But now we can.

Just becuase it wasn't the 'thing' back then, doesn't mean we can close our eyes and make it go away.

And now we need to decide. are we a country of descrimination, or are we openminded and understanding?

Everything annoys me, it depends on what mood I'm in.
