Pet peeves I saw today at Magic Kingdom

How about the people who stand in line for 30 minutes waiting to order food then when they speak to the order taker they have know idea what they want!!!!! :furious:

Or worse....they let their 4 year old KID make the decision on what he's eating (I am sure it some kind of self esteem building exercise)...."Bobby, what do you want, a hot dog or a grilled cheese? Remember you didn't like the hot dog you got yesterday. Maybe you should get some carrot sticks instead of fries today. They have root beer, milk, lemonade. I don't think you should have any more caffeine. Fruit would be a nice change for dessert"

OMIGOD - just order the food for the kid and get going!!!! He's not going to eat any of it anyway!

I'm a smoker and agree with most of which has been posted. I plan my smoking breaks by skipping certain attractions that the family goes on. I also know, without looking at a map, where most of the smoking areas are(my favorite is near the washrooms by the TTA). I think it is unfair to group all smokers into one category and flame away at them. It has nothing to do with smoking, it is wether you have respect for the people around you, IMHO.

One other good spot is near One Man's Dream. I enjoy walking through the exibit, but skip the movie. This gives me enough time to head towards the green door, up towards the hat and make a right to the smoking area. While the family enjoys the movie, I enjoy my breather :coffee:

3. Parents who drag their crying terrified small children onto rides

Yes, this bothers me too. If the parents want to go on the ride that badly, then do the parent swap so you each can go on the ride and the child will be happy too! My daughter changed her mind about Haunted Mansion a couple of years ago while in the room with the stretching picture. My husband took her out and when I came out, he went in. Not a big deal!!!!

The smoking and people just stopping with their group in the middle of a crowd is annoying too.

I thought of one more. When you are in an attraction where you have to sit in rows of seats, for ex. Country Bear Jamboree or Muppets, and the CM asks people to please move down and take up all available space or seats so that other may fit and people don't move down or budge a bit! Very rude!!!! Just move down a couple of seats people! :headache:  :furious:

I wish I thought of that. That burns me to. How about the people who send there families to buy the food while they hold a table for 30 minutes and you are holding your tray and would have been done eating by the time their family was done ordering  :furious:

I love these people. It doesn't matter that three families have come, eaten and gone before their family has even ordered. They want that table! LOL :rotfl2:

Three weeks until our trip!!!!!!!

(I even saw one dad get OUT of line for an attraction to talk on the phone...leaving his wife and daughter in line.)[/QU

He may have had to do this becasue of a work or family emergency.??? I otherwise agree with everything else.... ;) ;)

As much as we'd all love for WDW to be reality, it's not. There's always stuff going on at home that we can't ignore.

How do you know that guy on the phone wasn't talking to someone about the condition of a very ill relative back home? It's quite possible. I know, because I WAS that guy once. And if someone ever talked down to me for being on the phone, I'd a flipped at ya.

I could hear most of their conversations. Two Dads were saying things like, "Look, I'm in Florida right now so tell that SOB I will come see him as soon as I get back on Monday."

The phone thing has really gotten out of hand. Multiple times I saw one oblivious phone talker/walker almost bump into another phone talker/walker. I really love when they get all animated in their conversations while walking into people.

I have told people who have smoked in non designated areas. That there are designated areas for that and dont let a CM cath you or another park employee catch you they can/may throw you out of the park. (Maybe not at WDW they will throw you out) but I have been to other parks that state on their park maps on the back in fine print if you are caught breaking the rules mgmt has the right to escort you out of the park and no refund will be given. I dont think they would do it for smoking but it is a rule that they had printed on the map and I show this to people and the quick put their cigarette out and ask me to point out on the map the designated smoking area (not all people but some do and others tell me to ---- off.

I came very close to just swatting a cigarette out of the hand of this young woman who was just walking through the crowd smoking it, but I told my wife I would not cause a scene in front of little kids. (I think I could have just swatted and blended into the crowd before any fight ensued, but she told me not to.)

1. Line cutters

2. People who argue with cms about Fastpass return times. I don't know how the cms put up with rude people all of the time.

3. The family who thought that they should cut into our spot 2 minutes before Illuminations started. They literally shoved ds out of their way. Dh said "excuse me!" loudly and pulled ds right back in front of the rail. Ds had been waiting in that spot for an HOUR to watch Illuminations, and they shoved him out of it 2 minutes before the show started. GRRRRRRRR!! Plus, ds was WAY shorter than they were and they could see over his head just fine anyway. Had they kept their spot in front of him, he would have seen nothing.

4. Young, healthy people who do not offer bus seats to young children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

5. People who change diapers on cs tables.

6. People who litter.

7. People who take flash pictures where you are not supposed to.

8. When it is very crowded, people who do not move all the way down the row at Philharmagic to be seated.

9. People who have children who are obviously afraid to ride something, yet they force the child to ride anyway, and you have to put up with the tears and screaming in line.

Wow, that's a long list!

I completly agree with 1, 2, and 3. They're horribly rude and cruel, but what's up with 4 & 5? When does that happen?

I just happened to get stuck behind a family who didn't seem to want to stop asking questions of the ticket seller. I always pick the wrong line for things like that. It wouldn't have mattered if it had been 30 minutes or more before the park opened, but it was only about 10 minutes until opening, but then the broken monorail made sure that we would miss the park opening anyway.

I also don't get people not holding a door for someone who has a kid in a stroller or wheelchair(again my daughter in the parks) or carrying a full food tray. They just enter and let it shut on them. It takes all of 10 seconds to be nice to someone.

I agree and am usually the one holding the door. What gets me is the lack of respect. No one says thank you and a crowd will push to get to the opened door that I am holding so now I am waiting for all of these people so I can rejoin my group.
Say thank you to me and take your turn.

Just like the mom who drags her child to the front of the line looking right at you as if she has a special pass to do so. Her child looking embarrassed and won't look up from the floor.

Wow! That felt good to put out there. :)

Yeah, I saw one family return in front of me and the CM says, "Um, it's a little early isn't it?" (They were there about 15 minutes too soon.) The mother does her best fake ignorance routine, "Oh, is it? Will it be ok?" That's why I would never make a good CM. I'd be like, "You see that ticket, it says 2:35. That's when the big hand is on the 7."

This is my pet peeve. :headache::crazy2: A lot of people believe this and I strongly disagree.

If I were a savvy entrepreneur i'd make buttons that say "Have you hugged a CM today?" I'd make a million bucks on these boards alone as we all know how close to sainthood a CM needs to be to put up with some of what they go through from rude guests!

is kind of related to your #1. But I shall take it a step further. Why do you feel that you have to just STOP right in front of the entrance or exit to the attractions? It's what my DH and I call the "phenomenon." I may have spelled that wrong, sorry. But you get the idea.

Cell phones - yes. For God's sake, it's vacation. Take it.

I've never had a problem with the ferry or the monorail breaking down. Never.

:lmao:

That is classic!!!!!!!!!!! I will have to remember that! :)

In defense of some of the people who stand in line for thirty minutes and then study the menu: I am alot shorter than the average adult male. I cannot even see the menu when I am behind a man who is over 6 ft tall. If the line for food is 30 minutes long, it is probably really crowded, and I can't read the menu standing behind the crowd because the print is too small and I am too far away. Also, a heads-up--I was probably going to order for my whole family the entire time I was waiting. My son and husband just went for a potty break (because there was a 30 minute break to order food, and it was really crowded). So, just because husband and son join me in line after 25 minutes, it doesn't mean they are cutting in line. It means I don't have four hands to carry two trays. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
