Hi
I finally get to go back to the FORT!
This time I plan on taking my little furbaby (yorkie):dog:

We stayed in the 1900 loop last time and LOVED it!
I don't think it was designated pet loop, but there sure were a lot there.
I would really like to stay off the main roads where the buses go by.
So does anyone have a recommendation for a quite loop to request?

Thanks, I am already excited!
:dogdance::yay:

We have stayed in the 300 loop. It is a preferred loop. It is near the dog park. It is close to the marina so you can hear the boat horns.

I think we were the only group in the 500 loop without a pet this past Christmas. I think the CM at the gate misunderstood when I said we did NOT have a dog. 500 is a premium loop making backing in very easy. The entrance is right across from the 300 loop and close to the dog run and playground.

We stayed in the 300 loop last year but found it a bit tight. We also have thunder-phobic pups and wanted to move further away from the lake. We upgraded to a premium site this year to gain some more room and lose the sand pad. We put in a request for the 900 loop and have our fingers crossed. We arrive at the Fort this Saturday. :yay::yay:

What site did you stay in? Can you describe it?

Thanks,

If you are looking for full hook-up loops, the designated pet loops are 1600 to 1900. They are quieter in my opinion. We always take our bikes, so the location works for us as well. You are close to the trading post, pool, and movies. You will just come in from the back end instead of the front for the trading post, but since you stayed in the 1900 loop you already know that. Hope this helps.pluto:pluto:

This year we built in several Fort days. So Saturday after noon and Sunday we plan to do some exploring. First day in the parks is Monday and of course it has to be the Magic Kingdom.

The canal side of 1600 loop, the 1800 and 1900 loop are the quietest pet loops. These are all full hookup loops.

k4dcf-- I agree, although we haven't stayed in the 300 loop, We road our bikes around there and it looked cramped.
I would love to hear about your trip when you get back!

PAUL -- We stayed in #1927, we had a good amount of space between ccampers. It was an inside site and it was low (could have been swampy in the rainy times.) But it was so quite!
I really want something like that but maybe on the outside this time.

I think a site on the canal would be great! 1800 loop looks go on the map... but I can't remember riding over there.
Can you request something like "loop 1800 on the canal"?

Thanks everyone!!:goodvibes

Totally depends on which site you're in. The sites on the inside of the loop definitely tend to be smaller and more squished together, but many of the ones on the outside of the loop are quite spacious. We especially like the ones about halfway through (in the 333 range) - they're backed up by lots of bushes for extra privacy, and because of where they fall on the curve of the loop, they tend to be pretty spread out from each other.

We spent 3 weeks in 334 in November and 333 in December'08 and LOVED these sites. From 333 you could look out the door of the TT and not see anyone at all. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I think I have seen pictures of your site setup. Your puppys and a pen? I can't decided what to request if anything. I don't want to be to picky or not detailed enough.
It's harder now that I know there are good spots and not-so-good on
es.
I hate that they cute down so many trees. I guess it was necessary.
Thanks again for the info.

OK, I am being told that pet loops for a premium site in 400 to 1400.
Is that possible?
Has anyone been recently?
I also didn't expect over $80 a night for October. (not even Halloween)
:confused3

Yup - that's us! :)

I can't decided what to request if anything. I don't want to be to picky or not detailed enough.

Unless you have real concrete reasons for wanting a particular site, I'd probably just tell them "these are the things that are important to me...." (shade, space, proximity to comfort station/bus stop/dog walk, etc..) and leave it at that. Honestly, there aren't very many "bad" sites, and of course "bad" is totally subjective.

We didn't start requesting particular sites until '08 - when we expanded our stays to 3 weeks. Before that we just booked the class of site we wanted and let them pick for us. We never felt any of the sites we were in were terrible at all.

Good luck and have a great trip! :flower3:

Assuming your Yorkie has long hair, I would avoid the 1900 loop! We stayed there a few years ago, and every time we took our Schnauzer out it took us 20-30 minutes to get the droppings from the cyprus trees out of her hair. Will never stay there again.

Loop 300 also. We have a border collie/aussie mix and all she has to do is look at the cypress "leaves" on the ground and they become embedded in her fur. I keep a good comb handy for after our walks. Having said that we usually stay in 300 because of the dog walk along the canal and the dog park. Loop 500 is our next favorite.

Oh yeah - MAJOR issue in the 300 loop too. Of course that might have something to do with the fact that we're usually there when the cypress are "shedding" and we like to request the sites right next to the ENORMOUS Cypress tree. :laughing:

One of our border collies has quiet the plume of a tail, and it looked like a broom every time he walked through our site. I think I was picking cypress needles out of the vents on our SUV for the next whole year!

From another recent thread...
There are designated "pet loops" in all catagories, but they have put pets on just about any loop especailly if they are busy.

Designated pet loops.

Preferred=300

Premium=500,700,800,900,12,00,1300

Full=1600,1800

I also didn't expect over $80 a night for October. (not even Halloween)

Yeah, that's actually the "value" season rate for Premium these days. It only gets worse from there. :sad2:

I don't think I'll tell DH about that:scared1: I would love to make a quick trip for our anniversary in April. :eek: just thinking about those prices scare me.

Do you know anything about the 500 loop, are the inside sites very spacey?
We live out in the country and our doggie isn't used to the traffic noise, so I am looking for something away from the main roads where the buses are.

How about the 700 loop? Of course not the ones on the inside that back up to the road.

I like the idea of requesting a particular loop... but the suggestion of requesting something like, "spacious and quite, off the main road", might be easlier for them to fill.
