I am wondering if anyone can recommend a pet friendly hotel near Disneyland? I know I can search for them through a travel site, but it takes a while to filter through by looking at them on a map for closest distance, and finding out how much extra $ it is for them. We have two golden retrievers so not sure any hotel will take two middle/large dogs. Thanks!

There's a pet friendly filter on the Disney site in the good neighbor section. You might have to contact the hotels directly to find out if they allow multiple dogs or if there's a weight limit.

I know Hotel Indigo and Red Lion are pet friendly. No idea what their policies are. I just know because my DS6 is allergic to dogs and have looked into staying at these 2 places. I would call and ask. :goodvibes

I have two dogs, one of them is a pretty big boxer, and when we take our dogs with us to DL we stay at the Sheraton Anaheim. With a AAA card the dogs stay free. They always give you a courtyard room so you don't have to walk a long ways to take the dogs out. If your dogs are well mannered they let you take the dogs on their DL shuttle as well. I always tip the driver well.;)

I've also heard the red lion hotel allows dogs as well but I don't know any details. A lot of places say they take dogs but then have many stipulations and BIG fees. Also call any hotel and get the details upfront. And none of the hotels will allow you to leave the dog in the room unattended. But the DL kennel is nice and the people that work there are great. Make sure you bring a record of all of their shots to use the DL kennel.

Thanks so much for the quick replies! I will look into those mentioned. I see there are no reservations for the kennel club at Disneyland. Does it ever fill up as the day goes on?

Hotel Menage. First floor rooms. Great pool and palapa area. And an amazing view of the fireworks. The ART also stops directly in front of the hotel, if you don't want to do the walk.

I've personally never seen it fill up but when I bring the dogs I always go early in the day. But I have gone back later in the day to take my dogs out and its been full and they were turning people away. The slots for the big dogs fill up the fastest. On the more crowded park days it tends fills up quicker.

Also note, when you leave your dogs at the kennel, you are required to come back every four hours to take them out to the bathroom. The kennel is right outside of the main gate to the right next to where people rent the strollers. The kennel opens 30 minutes before the first park opens and 30 minutes after the last park closes. I don't think the magic hours/ early entry applies. I think its only regular park hours but to be sure give the kennel a call directly about that and any other concerns you may have. 714-718-7662

We like the Residence Inn Maingate. No problem with the larger dogs. *I* like you can walk out your door to grass (always clean up.)

I know this is an old thread, but I couldn't find a more recent one. I don't know how much of this info is still relevant. I am looking for a pet friendly hotel near the parks. It needs to have convenient access to an ART stop, unless it is directly across the street. It needs to be as budget friendly as possible, while still being a nice hotel. Does anyone have a current recommendation?

Thanks!

Anaheim Residence Inn Maingate, Anaheim Plaza Inn, Red Lion, Motel 6 on Disney Way all meet your requirements.

keahgirl8, make sure to call the hotel about their policy regarding leaving dogs in the room when you are not there. Several of the pet friendly hotels in the area will not allow the dogs to stay in the room without the owner (thus the need to take them to the Disneyland Kennel Club). I am not sure if the ART allows dogs (other than service dogs). I have never needed to find out. As was noted above, the Kennel Club does not accept reservations and is strictly first come...make sure to bring your dogs' vaccination records with your details, dog details, and veterinarian details and signature. The Kennel is very strict about this and I have seen people turned away without the proper paperwork. Also, if you are going to be going during a busy time, the Kennel does fill quickly. Generally within the first hour or two after opening.

As for hotels... it's been a while since we had are furpeople along with us. But I have stayed at Anabeim Plaza Inn and it was okay. Anaheim Residence Inn Maingate was also a go to for my family. Haven't been there in several years. I suggest having a look at Expedia or Trip Advisor (or such) to check the more recent reviews for the hotels.

ART allows crated dogs only. I checked on that for our trip last May. Luckily DH (not a Disney guy) decided he didn't want to go to DL and stayed in the RV with our dog.

Aussie is correct. You cannot leave your pup free in the room. However, we have not had an issue leaving our crated in the room. Do travel with your dogs records as you never know when you will need them. We travel frequently with our pups (we train service dogs.) We always have our vax records and insurance policy.

ART requires dogs be crated, however the places I listed are within walking distance. When we aren't at the DLH, our preference is the Residence Inn Maingate. Motel 6 is right behind it and is very nice. The ANaheim Plaza is a little older, but my kids like it for its value (ie cheap rates!)
