Pet Boarding Suggestions

Planning to come in January for a week and then rent a house for another three weeks. The house accepts dogs but I need a recommendation as to where to board my English Golden while in WDW. I've only seen Best Friends and cannot get through to them as yet.

Anyone have an alternative?

We've used Best Friends at WDW a couple of times and been very happy with the service provided.

We live north of Orlando, so I'm not familiar with any other locations in the WDW area. We typically board at our vets office.

We too use Best Friends. They have an online booking request form I use because calling them is a hot mess (on hold forever and if you select the call back option they don't call back for like 2 hours).

They are just fine to use and very convenient to Disney. But when dropping off and picking up, it's outside (at least this past year that we've been using them), has a long slow line so be prepared for it to take anywhere from 30-45+ mins. In other words, don't have an ADR or something planned for close to drop off.

I'm hearing that a couple hotels allow pets now. they are trying it out. I think port orleans is maybe one place? ( I'll see if I can find that info )...

Yes I stay at either the BCV or BWV - neither does. I will likely go with Best Friends based on the comments. Thank you all!

You could pre-COVID. Not sure what the policy is currently.

You can try Rover, I t’s like a babysitting but for dogs. You drop your dogs off a person house, you can see the reviews they get on the website. They send you constant updates and pictures of your dogs. We like that they aren’t boarded up. You can see on the person profile, how many walks they offered, if they allow your dogs on couch, bed etc. We used it servers times and have always found the perfect person to take care of our dogs

I have been trying to contact Best Friends via phone for a week and get a constant on hold message. Today (Saturday) I was on hold for about 30 minutes, gave up and left a number. They did call me back within a hour. While discussing the reservation, I mentioned it was very hard to reach them and she indicated there was only one person taking reservations and there was a cue of about 85 people in line on the phone. I thanked her for getting back so fast, made the reservation and will check out other options mentioned while I'm down there for future visits. Glad they have a DVC discount.

They have an online booking tool too. That's how I book. It allows you to select DVC for the discount. Also, be aware, that drop off and pick up will have a long line outside (even if not long, it takes a while per pet to check in or out). So make sure to plan for about 20-40 mins to drop off and pick up.

Yes I know but online did not allow me to pick the indoor outdoor option. They told me I had to call in for that and was send an email saying I had to call them directly to give them my visa. I will drop my dog off in the evening since we are traveling that day of dropoff.
