We use a company called PestBan. When my house was built, the system was put between the walls. They come once a quarter and put stuff down around the perimeter of the house and there is a tube on the house that they blow into, so the insect killer goes between our walls. It costs us $360/year. I just got the renewal and am thinking about cancelling. I have a large house. We do see some bugs, but not a lot. The company will come in the house and spray if we ask, but we never ask.

Is $30/month a lot?

For those who do it yourself - do you just treat your lawn, or what?

We use terminex and that's about what we pay a year too. Before we used them we had a lot of bugs..especially crickets during the summer. Now we hardly ever see a bug in the house. Well worth it for me.

I just started looking around here and the company I just got a quote from was $45 per quarter or $180 per year... and it's the same sort of thing... they would spray around the outside and inject it into the tubes that were built into the house. Mine is a townhouse, so there is no yard, but it's 2200 square feet, so it's not terribly small either. $360/year does sound pretty high, I think.

I pay $360 a year (we don't have the wall thing). But that does include them coming in whenever I want, the perimeter and fire ant treatment for out lawn.

I just paid $495/year, but I hav RATS. Which is really awful and odd because I live in a development in central NJ. My yard is very small. My dog keeps catching them...

I think I pay more for the rat traps and bait, but it includes most insects. (not termites or carpenter ants)

I just got suckered in by the guy going door to door. Dang it. :rotfl: :confused3 It's with Frontline, and I have been meaning to guy an exterminator for our ant problem we have been battling for a year with no luck. It's $60 every other month, one year contract. No reservice fees or anything.

$32 a month for exterior and interior sprayings and will and has come back inbetween monthly services to treat.

I pay $60 per quarter. If I see anything, they come and spray right away.

We pay $79 quarterly for Terminix service. The only insects we've ever had inside our home are brown recluse spiders, and the quarterly spraying has almost totally ended that problem. They spray inside our home and workshop, and spread poison granules around the outside perimeter of the house, the shop and my greenhouse. I have learned a lot from watching the exterminator doing his job, and I'm confident I can do as good a job as he does. When my contract is up, I think I'm going to try doing it myself. The best way of getting rid of spiders inside my home has been using the glue boards to catch them on, and I can buy a lot of glue boards for $316 a year!
