I posted this on the Families board but it was suggested to post here. I hope that you can help- :)

I am hoping to find some info and or experience from my dis friends. My ds is 6 and will be going for further testing within the next few weeks. Any feedback would be very much appreciated! :)

Here are a couple of sites you may find helpful......PDDs are very wide ranging in how the child is affected, from mild social issues, to major physical and communication issues. For example, my daughter has Rett Syndrome, it falls under the PDD umbrella, but is very serverly affected physically, where another child I know has "PDD" and has some minor communication and social issues.
If you wanted to give more info it may help you to find another parent who has dealt with similar issues.

PDD is a pretty big umbrella, as was already mentioned.
Here's another website that might be helpful.

DS-13 was DX with PDD-NS and we were told he does not have aspergers (which we always thought he had) because he is too friendly. The Dr. said he is called a shadow syndrome child because he has ASD traits but does not fit into any one DX. Very frustrating!!!!! But I love him no matter what her rocks!
