I'm sitting here reading thread after thread where members are complaining & whining about issue after issue related to Disney. Let's get some perspective here. As someone pointed out in another thread, these are small bumps in the road of life. It is not the end of the world.

During this holiday season, let's be thankful for what we do have. Please remember that thousands of our sons & daughters are in other parts of the world fighting & protecting our rights & freedoms as U.S. citizens. They are "in harms way" to protect us often living with sand, spiders, scorpions & snakes.

I am not interested in a political debate, but I am trying to get some perspective here. Let's think positively :)!

Here here!!! I agree whole heartedly! I have quit frequenting the DVC board lately because of the whining! I am just happy to be a member and love staying at my "home" a couple times a year!

Diane, thank you for your comments. Another perspective today - my husband & I went to an open house at a local homeless shelter. We frequently make donations & were interested in the services that are provided. I walked away thinking how can people work there every day & not have a broken heart. I also realize that everything we donate does get used. What an eye opener! And it made us appreciate everything we have even more!

Thank you both, Judith and Diane.

This has been a tough day for me... wrapping presents got me thinking about my dad who passed away 2 years ago on 12/22. I decided to boost my spirits with a little WDW/DISboard magic. Every one of us who have the means to be DVC members should remember how very fortunate we are. It's easy to get caught up in the minutiae of day-to-day life, but we all need to stop and count our blessings once in a while.

And one of my blessings, after my family and friends, is that I can go to WDW and hear, "Welcome Home".

All the best to all of you this holiday season!

Joy

Maybe people are feeling the holiday stress a little more or something - don't get me wrong, I am not in the complaining camp. I too sit here and wonder, should I read the DVC board this time with all the recent negativity.

But I know some people read to see how the pot gets stirred, and others oblige them.

Hopefully, we can see more informative and objective posts about our "homes" in the future.

hi and thanks. we should all try to accent the positive side of the situations.

Maybe in the true spirit of the holidays we should be sending all the negative/whining/complaining posters some Christmas

Thanks for your original post Judith,

I would just like to add that people in other countries (Canada) appreciate the sacrifices that your son's and daughters make in the name of peace. We live in a far better world because of them.

Also I don't mind constructive comments but I can do without the whining, I get enough of that 9 To 5.

Happy and healthy holidays to all:)

Rob&Jan, the US has a lot of allies in the search for peace including Canada, the UK, Australia, etc., etc.

Your comments remind me of our trip to WDW last May. At the Festival of the Lion King we sat next to a family from the UK. Their little boy was chosen to participate & we offered some suggestions for the dad to video his son. We chatted after the show. The little boy had just started pin trading, so I gave him a Mickey holding a star; the star had the US flag. As it turned out this was their family holiday before dad went off on a long deployment as part of the international effort.

Bottom line ... it is not only US servicemen & women, but lots of others, too. Thank you all!

Also, I am pleasantly pleased to know others have similar thoughts about what they've been reading here lately :). Thank you!!

The pettiness of most of the complaints on this board are frankley anoying. "I did not get a welcome home" for instance. I had to walk too far to the room. Some people need to refocus and see real problems. People that have that kind of time to complain about those little things should be thankful thsts all that is wrong in their life. Lets get real.
