The stones are not for sale any longer I don't think. I can't think of what those are called but the ones in Epcot were called "Leave a Legacy." Oh and....
They were called "Disney's Walk Around the World -A Family Milestone." They last sold a few bricks in June 2007 for $295 each.
I'm surprised with how many people were interested at that time they didn't consider bringing back the program? I understand the reason they stopped it was due to lack of interest.
We were lucky enough to have one of the Fantasia ones directly in front of the gate (I believe we paid a whopping $150 for it at the time). They were guaranteed to be there for 10 years (I think they were dated 1992). I thought for sure Disney was going to hit us up for more money after the ten years were up to pay more to keep it there.
There's a ton of Japanese guests who bought them near the wedding pavillion.
The EPCOT one was a bust (although we have a few). YOu can only put 2 people in the picture. How hard would it have been to have larger plates?
It's too bad they don't allow the purchase of those anymore. Our trip last Aug we walked from GF to Poly to TTC & they had some empty (no name) & it was neat looking at them & seeing the places people are from that purchased them!!!! I couldn't afford one back then but I would sure like to buy one now!!!
I was hoping they were still doing leave a legacy....darn! I didn't do it in 2006 because I was on a tight budget then. Now that I have the money and I will have my niece and nephew, I really wanted to do it. grrrr....oh well, its not like it will ruin my vacation

It definitely was NOT "lack of interest" that stopped it when they started up again in 2007...it was apparently someone in management. A LOT of people were jumping on the opportunity at the time (thanks to the DIS). It took several months for the ones that they DID sell to get installed, between the quantity and the weather (it was a very wet summer).
One more thing...I know one of the CMs who was involved with in in 2007 has been trying to open it up again to continue filling in...but no luck so far and its been several months since I've heard anything.

I agree, there is interest now, and obviously they can still make them. I was part of that 2007 frenzy. I knew I had to make a decision at that moment that person posted the application (thanks DIS boards) or the opportunity would be gone. I just kept thinking that it was $295 for a chance of a lifetime. Luckily my family owed me a gift so when they got home that night I told them what they had bought me. I still have the email informing that I was getting a brick. I'd still like to know how many applications they got and how many bricks they sold.
So the order went in during June. The stone was placed the end of the third week in Aug. In the beginning of the vacation it wasn't there. We decided to check one more time before we left for the airport, and there it was. It was so exciting to see it. Now we go visit it every trip and take pictures.
Maybe one day they will bring it back out. Disney has to make money off it, plus they are getting the guests to pay for the materials to build their walkways.
WOW, $295! My parents have their 40th next month, for their 30th my Dad bought one. It was $99 back then, when you get off the tram at the TTC you step right on them
Funny thing, Dad has absolutely no control over the money- my Mom writes the checks and pays credit card bills. He saved his turnpike chage and had to go buy a money order behind her back! LOL
