Hi,
We just got back from the 4/17 Eastern and after reading Barb's post on this excursion we decided to give it a try! It was great!
I had never driven a jet ski before ( I did the Rhino riders a couple of days before and had a blast, not the same!) and they had said it would not be a problem since it is a guided tour and not a free for all... So my daughter and I jumped on one and off we went. My husband and son were on another. The tour takes you off to the other part of the island (over to the right side) The first stop is near a mangrove and the guide tells you about the vegetation of the islands and how the islands formed etc... Then it is out to open sea!! I had such a hard time driving the jet ski...it just wouldn't go straight...the chase driver stayed with us as we all laughed at my ability to drive! If you let go of the throttle the jet ski will stop!! As I found out evertime I hit a wave!! Too funny.... Finally everyone was so far away from us that they looked like little dots! What happened next was just too funny....! I thought we were cathcing up because everyone appeared to be getting closer... And then I see people walking on water!! We could not figure out what was happening!!! How where they standing there out in the middle of the ocean! I mean we were really out there! In the middle of the ocean there was this sand bar and it was amazing! if you do this excusion bring your camera! Our guide was really knowledgeable on the history of the bahamas and was great....
We did the 9:45 excusion and I would not recommend this time unless you have someone in your group that is not going. We were lucky and were able to grab one of the last umbrellas on the beach after the excursion....
