We are two adults with no kids and we get to Disney twice a year. We were there a few weeks ago and decided to have dinner at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends, and it was just great. We've been to Chef Mickeys and tend to prefer it over CP, in fact we have it booked for our Sept. trip. I guess my point is this, regardless of age anyone can have a great time at a character meal and I highly recommend it for the pure fun. I know the food quality has been criticized, and no it's is not touted as 5 star dining, but we found it to be good and end up having a great time with the characters as every one of them makes it to each and every table. Again just a personal observation.

We don't have kids, and we sometimes go to character meals.

I can't really say it's my favorite thing, though. I like to relax while eating, and I feel like I can't really enjoy my food when I'm worried about something sneaking up behind me and bothering me.

Thanks for offering your opinion! We too are travelling adults only and have booked breakfast at Cape May. I've heard good things about the food, but was concerned that two adults at a character breakfast would seem a bit weird. You've eased my mind about it! Thank you.

I think it's a lovely opinion! And one I share with my hubby, too!

We're also childless and get over to Orlando anywhere from two to six times a year. A trip to WDW just isn't complete without a character meal. We usually go for the 'Ohana breakfast with Stitch & Friends, but I just booked for Tusker House our next go around.

And I can't imagine 5-star dining around the clock! We love a little variety and welcome the opportunity to enjoy all the different atmospheres WDW (and Universal, too!) have to offer guests.

Yes, we booked character breakfast at Tusker House, but we also booked lunch at Biergarten, lunch at '50s PTC, dinner at V&A, dinner at Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe (upstairs), and we'll also enjoy a few meals over at Citywalk. Like the character meal, no trip is complete for us without a po'boy and a hurricane from O'Briens and a nice meal at Emerils.

Variety is the spice of life :)

Enjoy your dining!

DFi and I do character dining often. We love breakfast at Crystal Palace and we really enjoyed dinner at LTT last month. Other than that, we've also done Chef Mickey's and CRT. I think they are just fine for adults to dine without any kids. I want my pic with Piglet too!

We´ve never been to Disney without kids, but I´m pretty sure we would still do character dining if we would visit as a couple.

DBF & I LOVE :lovestruc Crystal Palace Winnie the Pooh breakfast!!! We actually think the food here is the best breakfast on property!!

I love Winnie the Pooh and I don't think I'm too old to enjoy it (I'm 33). To us, character meals are just part of the WDW experience.

That's the point. The food is mediocre and they know that they can get away from it because character meals are geared mainly towards children and they know that you are really dining there for the characters, not the food.

We don't have kids, and we sometimes go to character meals.

We did CP last year because I actually wanted to see Eeyore. But other than that, we tend to avoid character dining because I want to eat my food without worrying about something bothering me every 2 minutes. The only exception to this is LTT. It's the best dinner TS option at MK.

My husband and I had the opportunity to go away without our kids for a few days in Jan, and where did we choose to go DISNEY!!!!!!!! Disney is for EVERYONE!

DH and i have done a lot of character meals years ago - they were fun, got lots of great photos - but now we avoid them, along with buffets - prefer TS with no "floor show" - no complaints about them, our taste has just changed

I enjoyed reading your opinion. I agree that character meals are for *anyone* no matter their age. We have two young boys, but when we went on our honeymoon in '96 we did character meals. I think it's the norm for everyone to want to do this sort of thing, no matter if they have kids with them! :wizard:

I love Liberty Tree and Donald's breakfast. It doesn't matter how old you are the characters are wonderful!

;) I love the character meals! My mother, although excited, was a little apprehensive dining at places like Liberty Tree Tavern and Crystal Palace our last December trip. Now we can't imagine having a trip without one, Disney is the place to be a kid.
Have fun!
