I've always done our budget in a self-made spreadsheet (don't worry, I deal with finance and analysis in my job) - it works, but I don't have the free time I used to for messing with it, tweaking it, or doing anything more powerful with it (long term charts or graphs, etc). I've decided to switch to an actual personal finance software program instead.

It needs to work on Mac Lion + (so no Quicken). It doesn't need to be overly simple since I've got some accounting and finance background, but it needs to be simple enough to import bank files and run if I'm in a hurry. Fancy charts and graphs would be great as an option.

I'm sure someone on the DIS will have suggestions. In the meantime, more Googling. :teacher:

I use Quicken on my Mac by running Windows 7 through Parallels. If that is not an option for you, Intuit is promising Quicken for Mac 2007 should be compatible with Lion by this Spring. I think it's a little embarrassing that the CEO of Quicken is on the Board of Directors for Apple and his company pretty much ignores the population of potential customers using Macs. -- Suzanne

When I upgraded to Lion and had to get rid of Quicken, I went with iBank from IGG software. You can get it from Amazon or the Apple Store. I've been happy with it. It does the same things that I needed from quicken, in a format that's not too different from quicken. Reasonable price, too.

Thanks. I want Mac specific. I avoid running the Windows if possible and certainly don't want to mess with it every time I want to check the budget. :)

I'll check out iBank.
