personal care attendants/nurses UPDATE!

Hello!

Does WDW give any sort of break to personal care attendants/nurses for people who require them or do they have to pay full admission price?

Hi, I am unaware of any breaks for personal care attendents/nurses for a diabled person at WDW. I had this situation - I went to WDW with my good friend, who uses a power wheelchair. She needs help most of the time, so her other friend/nursing student came along with us. My friend paid her nurse's way for the whole trip, I believe.

Our biggest problem was finding a handicapped room with a roll-in shower that had two seperate beds! Most resorts had only one king bed in a roll-in shower handicapped room. We ended up staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, since they have a chair that folds out into a bed in the handicapped king bed rooms.

It would be nice if there was a break!

If they do, I've never heard about it.
it might be worth going on the official Disney site (www.disney.com) and sending them an email to ask. When I have emailed them with questions, I've put something about SPECIAL NEEDS in the subject and it seemed to get to someone who could answer.

I just sent the following email off from DisneyWorld.com's website email - we will see what kind of response I get!

I was wondering if WDW has any sort of program/discount for caregivers - ie we are planning a trip for February 2004 and will be bringing someone in a wheelchair who will have a private nurse with them taking care of her.

I know that there are accessible rooms available and that the attractions have special lines etc but is there any discount on admission passes for the caregiver?
