Personal attacks on me from other posters

IMO, your posts have a biting humor to them - there is usually at least one paragraph that is baiting the reader to respond.

In example: the resume post had the remark soemthing to the effect that "I'm sure no DISer would do that, right?" (Not an exact quote, but I'm sure you get my drift.)

Same thing for your post about putting in 40 hours at your job- but only actually working for around 20 hours.

Sorry - but you come across to me as someone who is just "way out there" and not very real - and that is how I reply to you.

Me too.

Hey, I've had it happen several times myself. I've gotten jumped on the CB, RB and DB. I expect it on the DB, but not here. I think some people forget what board they are on when posting. You go ahead and ask all you like. I lurked on the resume thread, but never responded. It was gettin' a little personal, IMO.

I don't know what difference it makes if you are Bruce or Mary? For that matter, Peter, Paul or Almond Joy.

Here too, this is why I usually stick to Posts about WDW or things that I won't get attacked on.:o I appreciate everyone who responds to my threads about my GD/Friends wife's death, etc.:o

....I'll take that Almond Joy!!

I do think there are some who LOVE to stir the pot....

Everyone, here or in RL, has a confrontation of some sort every now and then.

If it happens often, I think it's time to analyze your own posts/words.

Have you rubbed people the wrong way?

Have you put people on the defensive?

Have you left things unsaid?

Have you put yourself in the line of fire?

Some people on this board, and believe me, I've seen this so often in my years here, CAUSE their problems. In other words, so called "victims" are usually the ones who picked up the "gun" in the first place.

If you make yourself a target, be prepared to get hit.

I don't usually respond to these kind of posts....but I just want to tell you, Chubroach, that after four years and over 16,000 posts I haven't riled TOO many people.....maybe 5 or 6....maybe!!!:D :bounce:

I agree with these latest post! ::yes::

You have 'arrived' here, posted many controversial topics on what is supposed to be the 'less controversial' community board... Without really taking time to participate in the board and to know others and let others know you.

I have to say that we have seen those who will 'sit on the fence' and throw statements way out there in right or left field, and then play the poor-me card when others question this. (I have experienced this here on the DIS recently with one poster whom I will, of course, not name....) When I encounter this, I usually PM the person and tell them that I am simply going to refuse to respond.

You know, we DISers can just smell posters like this a mile away!!!

Remember everyone: The way to handle a Troll is to starve them!!!! As long as these posters get the positive or negative feedback and keep things stirred up, that is what they want, and they will continue to do so!!! (Note the length of THIS thread????)
