Persistent "Sorry, this Resort offer is no longer available" error

Was just on the site and system went 'down for maintenance'...hopefully it will be fixed now.

Checked again this morning (6:30 CST) and still getting the same error message. I am just looking for one day in November at BLT besides the "temporarily unavailable" I cannot WL either. I did have 2 WL that came through and they cleared on my vacation page but still cannot WL because the "error" page tells me I still have 2 WL active (which I don't). I know RFC0001 posted they couldn't WL either.
I couldn't waitlist because the button to waitlist doesn't show up for these since they falsely report available -- interesting that it thinks you still have active waitlists -- wonder if that has anything to do with this issue (e.g. phantom waitlists holding on to reservations). Just to clarify -- MS can waitlist, you just can't do it yourself online since availability falsely shows as available, thus no option to waitlist is displayed
Wow! and does anyone else find this unacceptable? Trying to call MS and my wait time is 35minutes?
Yes :) It took what was already a completely tedious but predictable/reliable task (having to search every resort/room type combination on every day of the 7 mos Window), and made it completely unbearable to the point of beyond uselessness (actually going backwards)

No dice....it's rampant on nearly every available room at 7 mos window. I was trying to book what days I could that came available today (Oct 20-26), but nearly every "available" room (Including Studio, 1Bdrm, 2Bdrm) at all MK/Epcot resorts gave me this error.

Still doing it for me too. Those who cancelled resies based on this false availability should raise holy heck with MS to get your resies back. So sorry this happened to you. Good luck!

Yes for those of you who lost reservations so sorry his happened!! I am only trying to add a day but crazy that I have been trying to do that for more than 24 hours.

I called exactly as they opened and the wait time was already 25 minutes....crazy!

Thanks, I know MS can WL for me, but yesterday I didn't call because I didn't have time and this morning when I called I wasn't going to wait 25 minutes. Since I am only trying to add a day I am not too concerned and just don't want the hassle that comes along with doing it.

I did send an e-mail to MS to complain.

Well spent 45 minutes with MS and they acknowledge there is a system problem and may take a few DAYS to fix.:scared1:

I had the same issue. I saw that 3 nights at BCV were available for the tail end of my vacation, but I wanted to call member services to handle modifying the existing AKV reservation. The rep tells me that the final night is showing unavailable. So, I tried clicking on the button to book the reservation and I would get the same error as above. Finally, about 2 hours later, the third night is now showing unavailable (unfortunately for me). This whole process has been so frustrating, especially as a new DVC member who is planning his second vacation with them. It's going to make me cringe every time I try to book in the future.

Not sure if the system is fixed for all the resorts/dates that were having issues but I was able to input the day I wanted at BLT, it came back and told me it was unavailable and then let me WL. So standard operating procedure at least at this moment.

Yep, never got a response back from DVC, but it looks like we're back in business....searched all studio, 1 bdrm, 2 bdrm MK/Epcot resorts (man I wish I could search multiple resorts/room types in one search) and everything that had shown available is now properly shown as unavailable, and I was able to book a couple nights and cobble together all but one night of my original ressie I cancelled and lost, and waitlist the remaining night. Man, I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue :crazy2:

LOL!! Glad you could get something and hope that WL comes through for you. I just went with the safe SSR...figured I''d have no problem cancelling SSR studio and booking SSR 1BR ;).

Thanks! SSR is my home resort, so I always have a SSR ressie as a backup going into the 7 mos window, then try to walk an MK resort at the 7 mos window. I had successfully walked both VGF & WL ressies (didn't know which one would have all the days so walking both since both were available) for my complete stay-but of course I got greedy & wanted BLT, so cancelled VGF to book BLT & that's when this error occurred & I lost VGF. WL is not a bad consolation prize, but staying there for spring break this year & most likely next year, would be three times in a row, which may be a bit much, & October is the perfect time to book VGF or BLT since both are exorbitant next year during spring break which falls in Premier Season next year (fall break is Choice). As it stands, I have all but one day back at VGF & still have WL if I can't get the last day at VGF. So, yeah, 1st world problems
:beach:

FYI, DVC finally confirmed this issue has been fixed, which we assumed, but wanted to provide official confirmation so people can have the confidence to cancel reservations online in order to book other resorts that have availability. Keep in mind you still run the risk of losing a reservation when you cancel it or not getting a reservation when booking it, even if you call MS, simply due to other people searching for the same availability at the same time. As a result it's always better to book the new reservation first, then cancel the old reservation -- if you have enough points to do so, or can borrow points (keeping in mind you don't want to borrow more than you actually plan on using in the current UY since borrowed points can't be banked -- however MS can reallocate borrowed points to previous reservation(s), and you can bank those points you swap out). Good luck!
