Persistance Pays Off!

Our upcoming trip overlaps the spring and summer promos (June 10-22). We had originally booked our trip using the spring promo that only covered the first few days of our trip. After the summer promo was released and called back and was told by CM's that there was no way to use both promo's.....one or the other. I've seen others were successful in using both, so I decided to give it another try today and sure enough I was fortunate enough to get a knowledgeable CM who was able to separate my reservation and link them back together, so my first ressie covers 6/10-6/13 and includes our 10 day passes under the spring promo and then she gave us a room only ressie for 6/13-6/22 under the summer promo. She assured me the ressies will be linked together and we'll be able to stay in the same room.

Not a huge savings, but a savings of $150 which will be a nice family meal at Chef Mickey's that is now paid for!

When you check in for the first part have the CM look to see the continuing reservation and if the room has been assigned all the way through the second one. They might ask you to come back and verify that a few days before the second one starts if they can't see the room assignment yet. The room assigners are pretty good about keeping the same room, but it's never a guarantee. It can be corrected if they catch it a few days ahead.

...you definitely want to do this. Last year, we booked 10 days with the first 8 as a pkg & the last two as a RO and we didn't find out until about our 5th day in that we weren't going to have to switch rooms. So just because your ressies are linked, it's definitely not a guarantee that you might not have to switch.
