Perseid Meteor shower!!!

This weekend (8/11-13) is prime viewing for the Perseid Meteor shower!!! Hope it’s legal to quote Sky & Telescope mag…. “The Perseid meteor shower, an annual celestial event beloved by millions of skywatchers around the world, returns to the night sky this coming week. But moonlight will interfere somewhat with the view. Sky & Telescope magazine predicts that the Perseid shower will reach its peak late on Friday and Saturday nights, August 11-12 and 12-13 (for viewers in North America). The rate of activity should pick up after midnight until the first light of dawn. You'll need no equipment but your eyes.”

I can't see it. 2am here in MA. Clear sky. Bright moon & stars.

And dang its COLD out. 52 degrees.

Eh, not much to see. I wasn't about to get up at 2 a.m. to look during the height of this thing and I didn't get out of bed this morning until after 6 a.m. at which point the sun was already starting to come up.

I did check it out last night around 10 but only from the back porch. There's no way I'd go outside at that time of night. There are so many mosquitoes!!!

So while I maybe saw 1 shooting star last night, I did see a few fire flies. First time I've seen them in Florida.
