PerkTV

I made $20 and started in mid-January with just 2 devices. I am now up to running 4 devices and hope to make a bit more for February. Every little bit helps!

Taxes! Did anyone else get their 1099 in their email? Perk is not mailing them out, so check your spam file if you haven't seen it yet! They were sent on 2/1/16. You should have gotten one if you redeemed for more than $600 in 2015.

I can never find this thread when I want it! LOL! Do any of you use the LG fuel for perk? I was thinking about getting a few of them but on Reddit I read that they use a ton of data. BUT those comments were from over a year ago. I definitely want to bump up my perk earnings so I'm researching cheap phones.

I've got an LG Sunrise and 3 LG Exceed 2s. I like the Exceeds way more than the Sunrise. I think the Fuel is somewhat comparable to the Sunrise, but my knowledge is only from passing comments I read a couple months ago.

I wouldn't buy another Sunrise - I'm waiting for the Exceed 2s (or something comparable) to drop to $15 or less again before I buy any more.

Thank you for sharing.

I'm new to all this although I've read the thread for a while, I hadn't hooked up any devices till last weekend.

Not having the success rate that I've read about.

Luckily I've not had to use actual cash to get it started - just old devices that were gathering dust in drawers.

I am finding that the program will shut my tablet down after about an hour or so if I'm not babysitting it and my Samsung 3 after 7-8 minutes will stop the program, and just sign off and will not restart the program unless I restart the phone.

I'm probably doing something wrong or have some setting on wrong?!! Any help here?

The tablet has to reboot but the program will start right back up.

So looks like I'm not going to get rich fast at this rate <g>.

Hoping that I've just showed up at a very slow time and things will improve.

Hmmm. Perk has actually been working pretty smoothly for me. Well, considering that this is Perk and all of their apps are glitchy, it has been relatively problem-free.

However, I just want to point out that the apps are not meant to be started and then ignored. Perk can't sell ads if their clients feel that their commercials are not being viewed. So, yes, there is a degree of interaction with the apps that is required. You will not be able to start an app and go to work for the day hoping that all of the devices in your farm will be still running when you return.

For me, word search and pop quiz require the least amount of interaction. Live makes the most points per ad view, but tends to lag between ads and often needs to be tapped or reset. TV is almost guaranteed to need some sort of reset or to tap "yes, I'm still watching" every 2 hours. Screen, wallet, jetpack and scratch&win require constant interaction to earn points.

Make sure that your operating system is up to date on your devices. I found that my oldest iPod touch could no longer run Perk apps because Apple no longer supports it, so no iOS updates are available. The newer Perk app updates won't run on it. I've also found that sometimes an app will run better on android than Apple, but then things will change and the Apple devices will out-perform the androids.

I love the fairly new perk app called reward reader although you have to babysit it, I can earn about 20 points a minute if not more. Has anyone else tried this app?

That's a decent payout per minute. I haven't tried it yet, but I will now!

I've seen it mentioned on reddit, but it's not on Perk's website as one of their official apps. Given Perk's proclivity for banning members for using accelerators, bots, older versions of apps and too many devices, I'm reluctant to try it but I'm also interested in hearing how it is working out for others.

How long have you been using reward reader and have you redeemed at Perk since you started using it?

I"ve been using reward reader for 4 days and I just cashed out for a $25 amazon gift card yesterday.

Yeah - it's very hands on, but you get a random payout of 1-5 perk pts for about a 20 second investment. I don't think I came close to 20 pts in a minute, but it seems higher than any other hands-on activity at the moment.

I must be doing pop quiz incorrectly then. It's constant interaction answering trivia. How do you use it with less interaction?

Set it to "Lightning Mode" in the settings. Then play, but just don't answer any questions. You get fewer points, but it runs by itself.

Not ignoring them today. I was not able to tend to them totally until today. That work and sleep thing does tend to get in the way!

Early morning they were paying me 2 points for about an hour. Then it slacked off to 1 point ver video.. I've stayed with it all morning and afternoon up until now with quick visits to the laundry room, clothes folding, dishes, feeding pets, making menus for the week added into the mix and I've continued to click 'watch next video' and collect tokens and do whatever interaction is necessary. Around 3:00 the 2 devices I am running just kept running the little circle in the black screen and I restarted both and nothing. Just the buffering on both. After 45 minutes and many restarts, it came back and is running smoothly again, just not the point value I was getting this morning. It appears I may earn a dollar today from both altogether!

Devices are updated and run fine for everything else.

In any case I've had a quiet and relaxing day. Got some chores done and got in a lot of computer time!

I didn't mean to imply that you were setting things up and walking away for hours on end, although in re-reading my post, I can see how it may come across that way.

What I was getting at is that Perk apps will automatically crap out after a period of time. It's built into the program and it keeps us all honest.

It sounds like you're running Perk TV? Yeah, I get those spinning circles after about 2 hours instead of the "are you still watching?" pop up. I just close the app and restart it. However, if Perk is out of ads for your market area, it won't matter if you restart or even remove and re-install the apps. If they're out of paying ads, nothing will load. When that happens for an extended period of time, I switch the device over to another app.

Try switching to Perk Pop Quiz. Put it in lightening mode and let it be. I found running perk tv a waste for me and didn't see much return. I'm getting now about $10/week with Pop Quiz and very little babysitting.

Oh, I didn't take it that way! I quickly realized you couldn't just leave it alone. And since I work a lot and my daughter is disinterested (except to help me get the devices set up) it was left alone pretty much until today.

I won't have a lot of time for it, but I can play with it during my down time. I collected a few devices (between my house and my daughters with no money invested) but only have a farm of two working. I'm just dipping a toe in right now.

Retirement is coming and this is something I can dabble in a bit for extra coffee money!

I just started using Perk and have been doing Pop Quiz. Mostly in lightning mode, but I cannot lie, I kinda like doing the Disney trivia ;) Anyway, how many devices are you running to average your $10/wk?
