Perks of Concierge?

We will be going on our first RCL cruise in October and I am just wondering what are the perks of Concierge? We are in a concierge room but are still waitlisted for main dining.

I wanted to make sure they hadn't snuck in a way to tack on concierge to a "normal" reservation. I like it so much on DCL that I want the option on RCCL!

With the kids sail free and off season it is cheaper than any DCL we have been on! I hope we like it because it is a lot closer than Florida. I got spoiled with Disney sailing out of Texas

we love rccl concierge......fantastic.

dont forget happy hour 5pm-8.30 pm.....and the CL staff are there to help you with anything from bill inquiries to hard to get bookings. priority tender is also a bonus especially after a long day ashore

I am just learning the different "types/classes" of ships. My kids are pushing towards the new Quantum ships. Is the concierge perks the same? My DH would like the drinks and I would like the assistance with tickets/seating at shows.

They try to keep the perks the same across all ships.

Beware, if you do concierge once, you won't want to go back. You get a lot more than free booze. You get on the ship before anyone else. You also get escorted off.

Another plus, you normally get double RC points when you book concierge.

I know that makes my husband sound like a lush. Truly he is not. Do those in concierge get the drink (beer) packages or is the pre dinner and some supplements enough..

Love the above perks of concierge. My parents like shows and I am hoping if the concierge can assist with tickets ahead of time this will make things easier for them.

Not that we know how the new quantum dining will work but are we assuming they will be able to assist with those dining plans too?

They can book anything on the ship for you. You also get reserved seating in the main theater for the shows.

It is all you can drink from 5:30 to 8:30. They have multiple wines, beers, whiskey, mixed drinks, and espresso / coffee.

It's best to pair concierge with the late dinner seating or the flex option. Do not pick the early seating, it conflicts with your open bar time.

You will also get invited to a private party that takes place during the day. The ships officers attend that.

Don't forget to tip the guys in the lounge if you use it. They are not included in the regular gratuities.

We are also concierge for our first RCCL cruise in October. I've been researching the lounge and this is what I've come up with so far:

- You can get free drinks between 5pm & 8.30pm (waiter served) and all day you can get coffees and juice
- You are not supposed to bring your drink from the lounge but it varies from ship to ship
- Gratuities are prepaid if you elect My Time Dining, otherwise they are charged daily to your SeaPass account. The gratuities are a shared total between your waiter, assistant waiter, head waiter, and suite attendant. Gratuities for the Concierge and Concierge Lounge bartenders are not included with this and are separate at your discretion
- Children are allowed in the CL. Those under 21 must be accompanied by their parents while alcohol is being served
- There is no complimentary bottled water available in the CL
- Sodas are only served during the cocktail hour

I didn't have a ton of luck figuring out what the snacks available are. I found a menu that shows the beers are Bud, Miller Lite, Heineken, and Amstel Light. Those are really not going to impress my husband. it's also just mixed drinks available - nothing frozen. And they don't have Kahlua or Baileys either

I think I'm leaning toward just my husband getting the soda package since I can't seem to make the cost of us all getting a package work out. The cup seems pretty big and we can all share some of his soda the couple of times a day we fill it. I only drink a little soda on vacation and we don't let our 7-year old son drink much soda either. I think lemonade and iced tea are free?

Keep the concierge info coming! I need all the help I can get!

The food is...okay. It's a bunch of finger foods. Most of it is borderline microwave food. There are a number of small desserts that are not bad. The chocolate covered strawberries were good but not available every night. There are also veggies a dip which are a decent option before dinner.

The beer is not good. I don't normally drink any of those. They don't offer anything with a lot of flavor. The wine is okay but nothing to write home about. They do offer champagne too (sparkling wine - not real champagne).

You can't request anything different. They are not flexible on the options.

yes, and no. on Oasis and Allure, the CL is head and shoulders above any other class of ship. serves lunch( with wine!)

other differences include size location and set up. some lounges are very small, others have weird layouts. some have a bar set up within, others they must go out to say the Viking Crown to get your nightly drinks.

on ships with very small lounges( or none) and a large number of cruisers eligible to use the lounge they may instead pre load 3 drink coupons a night( valid only during the hours the CL serves alcohol..5-830) that can be used in any lounge

the Concierge can also help you get or change dining reservations, arrange bridge tours and take care of any issues that arise. they can also print out boarding passes.

the 24/7 access to the coffee machine is what keeps DH happy. I like the continental breakfast and the nightly appetizers( chocolate covered strawberries..mmmmm)
