We are trying to decide between 2 studios or a 2 bedroom villa at bcv. Other than the extra space, are there any perks or pluses that go along with the 2 bedroom?

Well you have 3 rooms instead of 2, a full kitchen, 3 TV's, a king bed and whirlpool tub.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to get info for our group. I think we want to try bcv but would the 2 bedroom villas at bwv come with concierge service?

Concierge is only available at Jambo House at AKV. None of the other DVC resorts have it (no matter what size room you have).

Only AKV offers club level, and then it's only in a VERY small number of villas. They're usually booked right at the 11 month mark.

Since you mentioned perks, I'll add that there aren't any special perks (services, etc) that go with certain types of villas. The differences between them are simply the number of bedrooms, and the furnishings/appliances are in the villa.

Studios at OKW have two queen beds. All other studios at all other resorts have a queen bed and a sofabed. You'd have a kitchenette with a toaster, microwave, coffeemaker and small fridge and sink.

Two bedroom villas have a king bed in the master bedroom, and a jacuzzi tub in the master bath. There are TVs in both bedrooms and the living room. A sofa bed in the living room. A full kitchen (stove, full-size fridge, dishwasher), with tableware, flatware, glasses, pots & pans, etc. Toaster and microwave. A washer and dryer. The second bedroom will have either two queen beds or a queen and a sofabed, depending on whether it's a lock-off or dedicated unit.

BTW, noticed your vacation ticker which says you are 7 months away from your trip. If you were planning to book BCV for THAT stay, you may be out of luck.

BCV is very popular among owners at that time due to the Food & Wine fest. If you are a member hoping to book at 7 months or a non-member looking to rent points, honestly there is very little chance of that happening. BCV is the one place where you often have to book 10-11 months out in order to get a room.

If you're willing to pay cash there may still be rooms available (rooms available via DVC points and cash are pulled from separate inventories), but you're looking at a rate of about $850-900 per night with tax for a Two Bedroom villa.

I know it might be a little difficult but I think we will be able to get either bcv or bwv. I know that the availability board isn't official but it shows our dates to be open at both resorts. We are owners at BLT.

Unfortunately, that board is only good to see what might not be available, not what might be available. Only a limited number of DVC members even post there. So what you see there isn't really a clue to what is available. Only MS can tell you that.

The availability board is a nice tool but it's only reliable to the extent that it will tell you when odds are something is NOT available. If a day isn't showing as sold out, it could very well mean that nobody bothered to report the night as sold out.

The fact that you are open to either BCV or BWV helps. But looking at the calendar, it appears your trip intersects with the Food & Wine fest, MNSSHP and Halloween itself. And depending upon how long your stay will last, you're creeping up on Jersey Week in early Nov. Those are all events which dramatically drive up demand.

And remember, all it takes is ONE NIGHT not being available and you won't be able to book your stay.

Good luck. Come back and tell us how you made out.

As others have said, just because the availability board shows open days doesn't mean there will be availability when you call MS. There are what, well over a hundred thousand DVC members? Maybe a hundred of those update that board. Sometimes.

I think it's important for you to have a backup plan. I've owned DVC for 10 years. I've never been able to get BCV at 7 months for October. Never. I got BWV once, many years ago, and that was only because I called the minute MS opened, the day the 7 month window opened for my dates.

I called MS 3 hours ago and they had no 2 br or studios available, BVC or BLT. At least for my timeframe, Sept 30 til Oct 7. I did get at 2 br BCV at exactly the 7 month mark but have been waitlisted for 2 studios for nearly a month......trying to give our adult kids extra privacy and save some points in the process. ;)
If you haven't called yet you probably need to asap.

Good Luck!!!!!

I will also state that the availability board is best for what is definitely not available - I checked it a couple of times before calling and found that I had trouble getting any rooms for when I wanted although there were no entries for the dates I was trying for at the resorts I wanted. Trying to get EPCOT resorts for F&W or VWL for Thanksgiving through Christmas as two of the ones that come to mind as really needing the 11 month window. I would definitely book my home resort if there is still availability there. At least at BLT you can take the monorail to EPCOT which is somewhat more convenient than taking the bus from OKW or SSR during F&W although not much. We haven't figured out the appeal of the F&W time and actually try to stay away at that time but hope you get the reservation you want and have a wonderful trip.
