Perkins

Back in 1987 on out first visit to 192 we visited Perkins on the 192 East (near Knights Inn) many times fot breakfast and dinner.

Over the years we revisited that one and also the one on the 192 west.

We have fond memories eek: sad I know) - but recent visits just haven't lived up to expectations - they now look run down & feel a bit seedy.

The purpose of this (long winded) thread is to ask DOES ANYONE STILL GO THERE? HAVE THINGS IMPROVED?

The other family in our party went to Perkins while we were there and didn't say anything negative about it...

The Perkins in the Crossroads Plaza across from the Downtown Disney entrance hasn't seemed to degrade. That whole area is more upscale than 192 tends to be.

Absolutely no disrespect intended here, but I'd have to disagree about the one in the Crossroads Plaza. We still eat there sometimes (last ate there in December, 2006), but we feel like it has really run down the last several years. I can remember going there 15 years ago, and it was great, but the last couple of times that we've been, we all agreed that it had definitely gone downhill (and we had to wait forever for our food).

The one up on International Drive was better (I last ate there in February). There's also one at Hwy. 27/I-4 that I think I remember as being good the last time we ate there (November, 2007).

I really love Perkins' breakfasts and dislike the fact that it seems like a lot of their restaurants (across the country) have deteriorated. The ones that are still nice seem to be grwoing fewer and fewer.

We still use the one on the corner of US192 and Poinciana Blvd. We enjoy the eggs benedict before going to the parks or a day out somewhere. We often find we don't need lunch when we do this. Something about getting older I guess!
