Since nobody seemed to know what Periscope was on The Trip the other day, or how it works...

-It's a live-streaming app directly from your smart phone, owned and connected to Twitter. You sign in with your twitter info.

-When you broadcast, your twitter followers will get a notification from Periscope that you are going live and they can open the app up to watch you.

-I think Periscope will only alert you the FIRST (or first few) times when someone you follow goes live (otherwise, you need to actually follow that person within Periscope).

-While most of your viewers may be twitter followers, other random people may pop into your broadcast as well (so luckily, you're mostly getting people who care to follow you anyway).

-When you start a broadcast, you have the option to show your exact location or not. Obviously, you'll want to turn this OFF if you are at home or someone else's home. You'd want to switch it ON if you are in a public place (like Disney World for instance) so you can get more viewers.

-The periscope app allows people to find people to watch on a map because of their broadcasting locations. If you're just at home and don't show your location, you can still get viewers, but it's not gonna show on the map view.

-As of right now, the broadcasts only stay up for 24 hours after ending. You can save the video to your phone and do what you want with the video, but they disappear after then for others to watch.

-People can live chat with you by typing comments and you see it on the screen. They can also tap the screen to give HEARTS to show they like what they're seeing (mostly its just something for peoples fingers to do while watching).

-Double tap the screen to switch from rear to front facing cams.

Now please, 'scope us your cats or something :D

Thanx, I'd love to watch Kathy's broadcasts, since she always mentions them, and she's there a lot. I don't have a smart phone though (don't judge, I just don't!) :rotfl: Can you use Periscope on a PC? Thanx for the help and advice with this!

Oh, duh. Forgot to say you can watch people's scopes on your web browser, too. You just can't broadcast from your computer.

So Technically, Klaus can do this from his twitter account too? He could Periscope his naps and do dining reviews of his meals.......

just as long as Klaus doesn't snore.

LOL Teresa - I'd actually like to see that! Now I know you all kid about Klaus, but I'd seriously like to know - what kind of personality does he have?

Thank you for the explanation. I have Periscope, just never used it. I think I'll try it next time I'm in Disneyland. :)
