Perfume in WS - Recommendations?

I've tried both Laila and Guerlain. Pretty scents. Last time I picked up a Shiseido spray cologne in the Mitsukoshi Dept Store in Japan. Similar to the others in the sense that it is light and not cloying. Reminds me of a scent called Issey Miyake. It may be available in major department stores...I'll find out soon as I'm running low!

Has anyone tried the scents in the back of the Twinings store? I think they're flowery type scents. I was wondering how they were-they smell nice initially, but sometimes perfumes don't "wear" well. Anyone?

Sounds like I should get some Smell of Norway for the wifey....can't miss!

Another vote for Laila. I do not wear perfume often, but I love the scent. I don't know whether it is the scent itself, or every time I wear it I close my eyes and feel like I am in the Noway Pavillion at Epcot.

I seem to be the lone dissenter here, but I really don't like the Norway perfume. Perhaps it's the fact that SO much of it is sprayed in that room that it is nearly makes me sick to my stomach.

The Guerlain shop in France is one of my favorites.....

I don't like the perfume in Norway either. I prefer the perfumes in Italy and France.

I am a fan of Week End by Burberry in England. It is not very exclusive but I love the scent.

I agree. Laila is wonderful. The only other place it's sold in North America is Nordstrom dept. store.

I've seen them at Sephora, too.

Really? We were in EPCOT in Oct of 2003 and I had the bottles signed by Geir Ness. At the time that's what he told me. They were only available at EPCOT and Nordstroms. Must have changed since then. :confused3

He was a very nice guy.

I like Laila, too. I didn't buy it when I was there, not wanting to risk bringing it on the plane. Unfortunately, the Nordstroms here no longer carries it, so, I had to wait until my next trip to buy it. It was worth the wait--I bought myself some for my husband to give me at Christmas.

I love Laila as well. But almost all of my perfumes are light, like Laila. I really don't like most of the perfumes in Italy. A lot of them are too flowery, IMHO.

Add me to the list that likes Laila from Norway. It is about $50 for a bottle. My mom loves it and made me buy her a bottle in December since we won't be going back for at least a year and a half. She still had almost a full bottle, but she didn't want to run out.....

My husband bought some cologne in UK by Burberry and they gave him a free sample of a woman's scent which I really like. I have no idea what the name is though, but it is really nice.
Is it pink? If so it's Burberry's tender touch, which I adore

That's interesting, we went back in December of 2003, and shortly after the trip I was in Sephora and saw it. I remember it clearly because I was so happy to see a bit of WDW when I didn't expect it.

Now I'm curious, I don't see it listed under sephora.com, I wonder if they still sell it in the stores? Incidentally, it is listed on nordstroms.com for those who don't have access to a local store.

Norway for Laila purfume is the best!!

I buy it for my wife all the time.

The other one i get her is called Roots in Canada.

Very nice as well.

OMG, I am shocked to see this thread go to three pages! I usually feel like a major thread killer.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will DEFINITELY be checking out Laila next week!

You MUST check out Norway. They have a fragrance called Laila that is fantastic. I bought a bottle for my wife for Christmas (on-line) and love the smell. It is actually for me in a way too, as it takes me back to the World every time she wears it and I smell it. (OK, sometimes I just sneak a whiff from the bottle, too.) Seriously, very light, flowery, airy. If you go, and if you like it, get alot of samplers, if nothing else.
Yes, I love Laiala too.

Yes it is pink, so that is probably it. I plan on getting a full sized bottle next time I am in Epcot.

Yes they are very light and clean. I have a bottle or two of the Freesia scent. It does not smell like you are wearing perfume, it smells like a soapy-clean freagrance. I wear it when I go to the gym because it is not overpowering., it does not change or turn. Some Guerlain fragrances are hard to find in this county. I know they will say EPCOT France is the only place in the USA you can find these items, but that is not exactly true. I have found the hard to find fragrances the Guerlain store in the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, Saks 5th ave and here www.strawberrynet.com . Nothing is "exclusive" anymore. Some may be harder to find than the others, but they are out there. I don't like smelling like everyone else, I have a huge collection of perfumes and I try to steer clear of mainstream scents. A few of my fav's at the moment are Creed Spring Flower and White in Love...they are absolutely heavenly...light and delicate and do not smell like anything else.
