Perfectly Princess Tea Party

I took my 2 DDs in Nov 06 they were 7 and 5 at the time. both girls loved the whole experience....especially the 5yo.. my 7yo was quite "worldly" and thought it was a little kids thing, before we went, but after we were there she was totally caught up in the magic!!
I'm so glad we did the Tea Party...we won't do it a second time, because I don't think a 2nd time would "enhance' the experience of the original. The girls (and I) have wonderful warm fuzzy memories and beautiful pics from the affair. It's not an event that you can enjoy as much as the kids get much older...4-8 is perfect...younger than that (3 or so) would depend on the child. The party lasts approx 1&1/2 hrs...which is too long to keep the attention of many children under 4yo...but you know your kids better than anyone and how they'll deal with that. Older girls may be a little bored or roll their eyes a bit at times...but if the oldest is 9or so and you have a littler one too..it can be a wonderful Mom(grandma) and daughter bonding time!!

I hope that if you can swing the $$$ you take your little princess(es) I don't think you'll regret it.

BTW...don't go just to see Sleeping Beauty she's only there for a little while. The Princess in the Princess tea Party is YOUR PRINCESS!!! She'll be made to feel pampered and special. If you want to see/meet DISNEY princesses go to CRT or Askerhus instead and save yourself a bundle of $$ and disappiontment.

I did this in early May with my 4 year old....we both loved, loved, loved it! She was enthralled with both Rose Petal & Sleeping Beauty, and to this day is singing one of the songs that Rose Petal taught the girls. She didn't eat a thing except her cake, and she completely drained her pot of apple "tea", but like others have said, you're not going for the food, but for sharing a special experience with your DD. The food was good....the grapes in particular were fantastic, but not filling, so plan on eating lunch afterwards. The cake was delicious...one of the best desserts I've had at Disney. Most of the little girls at our event were dressed up...some as princesses and some in just nice dresses. Most of the moms were dressed up as well....I did not wear a dress myself, but I felt that as a special occasion event, that I should wear something nicer than "park clothes", so I wore some dressy Bermuda shorts and a dressy tunic. Other moms were in sundresses. After the tea, the girls all line up and have a parade around the lobby of the GF....they then go up the stairs and have their picture taken next to a floral arrangement by a Photo Pass photographer (the same photographer takes pictures of the parade too). You are then led to the gift shop (this is Disney after all...so you have to exit through a gift shop) to receive a "birth certificate" for your Sleeping Beauty doll. They have a Photopass kiosk next to the gift shop where you can give them your Photopass card and add any of the pictures from the parade and the portrait that you want. THis was particularly nice for me because my daughter led the parade. All in all, it was an absolutely charming event, and I'm so glad that I spent the extra money to have something so special to share with her. Here are a few pictures to show your what our experience was like.

Thank you so much for all of the helpful responses! I really think that DD5 and DD3 would love it. They love tea parties and the princesses. It seems like a perfect event for them. Of course, the standard tea parties that we have at home may have to upgraded after an experience like this. :)

Thanks again!

P.S. The pictures that everyone has shared from this event are beautiful. The girls truly do look like princesses.

I'm taking my two daughters to this in December (they will be 5 1/2 and 4 at the time). Thanks to everyone who posted pictures. It's expensive, but when I total everything we're spending for airfare, park tickets, meals and resort stay, it's sort of a drop in the bucket. And the next time we go to Disney, they will likely be past the age where they are interested in this sort of thing.
