Being the overplanner I am, I have my Feb 2004 trip all planned and just called to ask a question or two. I wish VERY disappointted to hear the carriage ride at FW will not take you by the ELP.

Our original plan was to get in around noon to BWV.
Pool hop (I'm a DVC member) to WL for swimming and afternoon duck race.
Dinner at Whispeing Canyon so my niece could "get the ketchup"
Boat to FW for petting zoo and Roast Marshmellow end with the carriage ride.

I usually do one very memorable thing a trip (we did Illum cruise last time). I thought the carriage for ELP was it and now I am at a loss. I did the Fireworks cruise on my solo trip this summer and was very disappointed.

Any ideas for "fabulous" but not outrageously priced?

Thanks (especially for letting me vent:smooth:)
Sandy

I believe the 9pm hayride will accomplish this for you, but I'm not positive. You might ask on the campground forum. Good luck on your planning... from one over-planner to another. My perfect plans have been spoiled repeatedly, but that just means I get to make a new plan!

Since youre already there, go to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Thsi is way way waaaaayyyyy better than the ELP.

Unfortunately it is waaayyyyy more expensive x5 and I can't justify it for a 2, 7 & 8 yo who oh and ah over ELP. Don't get me wrong, we certainly give the mouse more than our share of money but I am thinking Hoop Dee is for adult night,

Thanks anyhow
Sandy

Aww I'm sorry to hear that Sandy. Maybe it would work out better to just stay at the Wildnerness Lodge and explore and watch the geyser and watch the ELP from there, or maybe even take the boat over to the Contemporary after dinner, splash in the pool there, and watch it from there.

How about the campfire event at FW? Believe it involves movies, visits with Chip and Dale (and maybe others) as well as the opportunity to make your own s'mores. Most little ones really enjoy it. Also, we've enjoyed the ELP from the beach of FW - maybe not as special as seeing it from the carriage, but still special.

Enjoy!

Not sure if it will do the trick Sandy, but my DS was amazed at getting to ride in the front of the resorts monorail while the EWP was progressing around the 7 Seas lagoon

The monorail was essentially deserted as the MK had closed at 7pm that night

We ate at Kona Cafe and then hopped onto the Monorail - after one loop around we asked to go to the front and voila no one else was asking so we got on the front and saw the EWP (thrice - since we went around three times - never underestimate the need for repetition)

Thanks

That sounds amazing but also that you would need incredible luck and timing. I do ok but this is probably a real trick. Does any time in that hour work?

Thanks for the suggestion
Sandy

Only 4 can ride in the front of the monorail.
