Perfect Hollywood casting that you originally thought was bizarre

When I heard that Johnny Depp was to be Captain Jack Sparrow, I thought they were crazy. When he came onscreen, though, I thought he was perfectly cast.

Any others that come to mind?

I thought the same thing about Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Also Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon in the DaVinci Code.
