Anyone else amazed at the flawlessness of many posters (and non just here –if youre a message board’er, they’re everywhere)

Not only are they perfect – their kids are perfect too. And they’re perfect parents, in a perfect house, with perfect pets, in a perfect neighborhood, with perfect schools. :cloud9:

I don’t even mean this as a slam – but after yesterday’s “AirSoft Gun /The Bad kid is really the Good kid” thread and today’s “Im look younger than my kids” thread – Im fascinated by this perception I feel people believe they need to display, of not having any problems/issues, etc etc. And an old song comes to mind – :rockband: “Anything you can do , I can do better! I can do anything better then you!” :rockband:

It’s strange though – I don’t run into this perfection in REAL life. :confused3

So, seriously, anyone else see those things, that just don’t add up. Is it really believed by themselves, is it caused by trying to impress others – but why would they try to impress – literally- faceless strangers?

And I don’t exclude myself from this – I’m not perfect, nor have I ever claimed not to claim I was…. :teeth:

Oh I have...and let me tell you, they are very scary people.:scared:
They have to view the world that way or they will freak out!!! I think it is an anxiety thing.
:rotfl:
My family and I laugh because we KNOW perfect does exist with Math, "Phi The Divine Ratio", and chocolate.:lmao:

I'm sorry, I'll try not to be so perfect anymore. :cool1:

off to get yet another tat and piercing....

another not perfect one

I'm so not perfect, it isn't even funny. What you see here, is what you get. Regretted tattoos, kids that irritate the you-know-what out me - just the whole nine yards.

(See, I just edited this to correct bad spelling!)

I honestly haven't noticed what you're talking about, although I've followed your "airsoft" thread. I think you've got a lot of people giving hypothetical perfection, but for the most part wouldn't have a clue what they'd do, if they weren't in your situation.

Did that make sense?

I think it is because you, the faceless stranger can't see them to know whether what they are saying is true or not. They can be anything they want to be, perfect, thin, beautiful, rich, etc.

And I have meet people like that in real life, they usually can't see the forest for the trees.

How dare you regret tattoo's!!!!!!

I cherish mine and always will.

The ones I've met in real life usually have something to prove... :coffee:

No, it made exact sense. And I think that might be part of what Im trying to say...

"Well, if *I* were such and such, I would blah-blah-blah" BUT amazingly, this is not the behavior I see, in real life. People arent so bold, and brave and outspoken. Always saying EXACTLY what they mean, whenever they need to, with fine, choice words....

It's just a strange thing, Ive seen for years on message boards - wondered if I was the only one who could "read between the thread-lines"

Although - me posting something like this, is a show of perfection.... so, who am I to judge, right? :confused3

You're just jealous of my perfection. :snooty:

I posted something similar once about celebrities and how they brag about their parenting skills with quotes like the below:

" I don't give my kids Juice - all they have is water"

"My kids never watch TV, in fact we don't own a TV"

" I make all my own babyfood and my child has never had sugar"

I have never tried to come across as perfect - i'm far from it. That doesn't mean though that I approve of everything I see other parents letting their kids do. Personally, I don't let my 5 yo play with guns, but he still drinks juice from a sippy cup. KWIM?

For one to consider oneself perfect would be conceited. To be conceited would be a flaw, therefore flawing the perfection. See? :rotfl2:

Are you talking about me again? :scratchin J/K :teeth:

No, no, no :rotfl: - and it's not everyone, nor is it certain people - all the time.

I didnt know we had a snooty-face... :snooty:

I dont even think it's :snooty: - it's rose-colored "nobody knows who I am" cyber-glasses :3dglasses

And I have to admit something - I didnt pay under $600 for my matress - I paid under $500.... but I didnt want to admit under $500 cuz it sounded like I was sleeping on garbage - but it's a nice matress, and Im a bargain-hunting-fool!

I SLEEP ON A $478 CHEAP MATTRESS, LIKE A BABY! :cool1:

Wow. I must be reading the wrong threads! Although I do occassionally see some of the 'perfect-people' responses that the OP is talking about, I think the vast majority of DISers seem to be just stumbling along like the rest of us - learning as we go, looking to each other for feedback, sharing news and views and laughing at our own and others mistakes. Some of my favorite threads have been postings about 'bad parent' moments, silly mistakes, and the sometimes goofy-ness of our everyday lives. :goodvibes

You're definately reading the wrong threads then. :lmao:

I don't understand what you don't understand...except for my lack of fashion sense, which we all agree I have issues with, we just have to understand that everyone can't be as perfect as I am.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

In my dreams!!!!!!

except for my lack of fashion sense, which we all agree I have issues with

But you bought non-mom jeans you must be perfect now!

Shouldn't this have spoiler in the title? I just can't believe that there are people here who believe they are so perfect. Wow this thread just ruined this site for me.

:duck: :rotfl:
