....would you think would be less crowded: A Sunday with a 6 crowd rating and MK is recommended -or- a Monday with a 4 crowd rating and MK is not recommended? Neither day involves EMH. Thanks in advance.

According, I think, Easywdw and Touring Plans the most effective thing to do is get there early and follow a plan. The difference between 4 and 6 levels is small enough to not matter.

Easywdw gives explanations for his recommendations. What does it say?

Honestly in my view not sure there is much difference between a 4 and 6, EMH impact is on regular opening visitors already finding park busy, but these days 4,5,6 likely all the same and possibly for MK lower than possible crowds you may likely encounter almost any week of year.

Josh usually doesn't recommend MK on Mondays because it's the busiest day of the week. His reasoning is many people arrive on Sunday and want MK to be their first day.

I generally follow the no MK on Monday rule when I'm able (because I like the reasons more than the numbers) but in your case I'd see how the rest of the days look and maybe that would be a deciding factor. But seeing as your other possibly is a weekend I don't know that it matters as much.

If you did a search on here for the posts where people come to say some version of, "Why is Magic Kingdom so packed?" or "Crowds are WAY higher than they are supposed to be!"...you would find that a very high percentage of those posts are about the MK on a Monday.

Josh's crowd levels are the averages for all the parks, not each individual park. So while they may average 4, MK might actually be a 6, while the most recommended, say, Epcot, might see only level 2 crowds. I usually follow Josh's recommendations.

And while he seldom recommends MK on Mondays, it's not a hard and fast rule. For example, he actually does recommend it for 2 Mondays in May.

I would read his reason why he doesn't recommend. There have been a few times I haven't agreed with Josh but for the most part I usually agree with his logic.

Perhaps the Sunday 6 for MK is still better than the three other parks that day? And the 4 on a Monday might be worse than the other three parks? It's all relative, and a lot of WDW guests bring their relatives ;)

I disagree completely. Sundays are often comparatively uncrowded, especially during party seasons.

I think I got MK and Ep mixed up. I had been reading that due to higher numbers of local people visiting the park, the weekends were typical worse, but it would make sense for that to be Epcot. TP shows the Mon of our week being worse than other days for MK too.

This. And it's often more important to go with recommended park days at slower times.

I was always under the impression that Saturday's at MK were the busiest day of the week due to locals.

Yes, Saturdays and Mondays are both bad. Saturday because of locals, and Monday because they say it's usually the first park day, and most people want to go to MK first.

I'd read the details to see why Sunday is recommended and Monday is not. (I know Monday has historically been considered a "bad" day for MK for as long as I've been reading about WDW.) I take it the "6" and "4" crowd levels are overall projections for all of WDW on those days.

Short answer - I would go on the recommended day, regardless of the overall crowd levels. I'd be less concerned if it was the other parks, but I feel like MK is going to be Crowded, Really Crowded, or Crazy Stupid Crowded, and I'd rather go on the "best " day.

Monday because they say it's usually the first park day

If that's the case then I can only imagine how much of a madhouse the Orlando Airport is on Sundays.

Crowd levels are data. Easywdw's ranking is a well reasoned recommendation based on multiple factors.

While it might look like a good day, it's not the best day that week.
