Our trip is a longer one this time, so we have some time to do some exploring. Would it be worth taking a trip over there for lunch if we are doing the a.m. at Animal Kingdom, MGM or Epcot?

Geez...maybe. If you had a desire to see CSR - which is a very pretty resort. I don't know if I'd go out of my way otherwise, though. They had great food and it was a very good use of CS credit with the dining plan, but time is valuable in the World, too.
I don't know about anyone else, but from what I remember of the Pepper Market, it seemed to be a bit expensive. However, that could have just been because everything is ala carte (you have a ticket and get each item at a different station who then stamps your ticket) and sometimes I think you may be more conscious of the price that way.
I would go, but only if it wasn't a hassle to get there. CSR looks like a great resort, but I wouldn't go out of the way just to eat at the Pepper Market.
CSR decorations for Christmas are nice(just stayed Dec 07) Very pretty resort in general. If it is easy for you to stop by and check out the resort, it is nice to stroll around and look at but also very large. Pepper Market has good food but the service wasn't the best so we only ate there 2 times. They have some specials certain nights of the week but sometimes you have to wait since they make the food after you order.

Has anyone tried that ribeye steak that is $20.95? Seems like it would be a great way to use a CS credit! What else is good there?
The rib eye is a very good value if you are on the dining plan. It only counts as a CS. The steak itself is not bad. I would not rate it as high if I were paying OOP or using a TS for it but it is tasty, a good size and comes with potato and another side and of course a beverage. The desert selection is not as good but hey, it still is only a counter service.

My DH and I have had the pizza, the fettucine, the caesar salad, the deli sandwiches, hamburgers. Everything we have ever had at the Pepper Market has been very tasty...and cooked to order.
The bill comes with a 10% service charge added in. I'd be prepared to pay it, dining plan or not.
I did make an out of the way trip to the Pepper Market and was less than pleased. If I was staying at CSR, then it would be fine...but not for a special trip.
We were just there in December. The decorations are very pretty and my whole family really enjoyed the food at Pepper Market. We were on dining plan and it was probably our favorite CS.
The DDP covers the gratuity for any size party for CS. Personally I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, Out of five visits ( 2 trips staying at CSR) I've had one decent meal where everyone in the party was happy, 2 where most were happy and 2 where everyone was thinking YUK! If you are trying to max the plan and don't care about the food taste and quality than go for it, but there is much better food in the world to seek out! Sometimes the food is made ot order sometimes it has been kind of just sitting there waiting to be reheated--pasta and Chinese comes to mind here
