My BF and I are going this August, last year we stayed at POFQ and loved it. We always ate breakfast and an ocassional lunch at the resort. This year (because we want to try something new) we are thinking about CS. I know this sounds crazy but we are considering another resort because of the bad reviews at pepper market. :confused3 Is it that bad..is the set up strange..I am still not grasping the concept. is it even something we should be concerned about? :confused3

We chose CS over CBR because we heard overall it was a better resort! :goodvibes

I'll be there in April and was wondering the same thing. Is the Pepper Market worth eating a meal at?

The Pepper Market certainly isn't bad. In fact it's quite unique (I find it too crowded for my tastes though).

Many people actually complain about the meager 10% gratuity tacked on for the drink service, but it's only 10% and if it weren't tacked on many, many people would leave nothing or next to it.

I certainly wouldn't pick PO or CBR over CSR due to food court options and while food courts aren't my preference if I were to choose one to eat in it would be Pepper Market. pirate:

I agree. I like Pepper Market. They have a wide range of food, and I thought it was pretty good. It's so hard to find cheap food that is not a hotdog in the parks, so having the pasta there was a nice change of pace. I thought it was good and I would go back if I were staying at CS.

Our family preferred it to Animal kingdom Rainforest cafe. I had P.S. and VKL vouchers and they still preferred to go to Peppermarket. I think it is actually the best reason to go to CSR. The pool is very nice but not SAB.

It is a bit overwhelming the first time though. Each person gets their own ticket. At each station your selection is stamped on ticket. And total is paid when you exit.
Desserts were usually very good.

We are planning to go to Peppermarket this trip even though staying elsewhere.

Thanks you guys..you have cleared some things up for me...the 10% isn't a big deal as long as every thing runs smoothly..I think I am leaning towards CS over CBR!!!! :sunny:

I thought they had really good food when we ate their twice during our last trip. Of course we had the Q&C vouchers so we got smoking hot deals on our meals  !

We actually really liked the Pepper Market. We would definitely go there again! (Also used some of our meal vouchers there which turned out to be a real bargain!)

My family enjoyed the Pepper Market. Good food with a big variety. We didn't mind the gratuity too much. You can always pick up your food and bring it back to you room to get around the gratuity.

What are these vouchers? Do you have to be an AP holder in order to receive them? :confused3

I never understand why the Pepper Market gets beat up so bad. It is the best place in WDW to get a meal. The options are great, everything is fresh, and lots of variety. Take it from someone who:
1. has stayed at CSR twice with picky eating kids
2. loves to eat
3. likes a good value
The Pepper Market is an asset, not a liability to be avoided. I still stand by my belief that if the CSR had a monorail, it would be a deluxe. No other moderate has the views, the pool, the "feel" of CSR.

we really liked it. it was much better than the food courts at the other mods.

It may have been the time of year we were there- July- but we found Pepper Market to be extremely crowded ALL the time. We stood in looong lines for each and every entree we wanted- and since everyone wanted different things, we had to stand in line three times. Then once again for the drinks. Then once again when we paid. We never got our first choice of entrees, because they ran out of items. Overall, I was NOT impressed. What food we did get was good, but it was such a headache getting it, it kind of ruined the whole experience for us. Just MHO, YMMV!!

Also when you eat in the Pepper Market you get 'real' silverware and cloth napkins.
We have stayed at the CSR several times, and love the Pepper Market. They have a good variety of foods. Stir-frys, rotisserie chicken with grilled veggies, pasta, delicious soups and great quesadillas. All along with the usual cheese burgers, hotdogs, sub sandwiches and salads.

The Pepper Market is a great place to eat. Guests get hung up on paying 10% gratuity but I don't have a problem with it. If you like Mexican, try the Wet Burrito. It huge and very good. The ribeye is good. If you can get you hands on some of the meal vouchers, that makes it even better. You can get the ribeye dinner and all that goes with it for less.

We loved the Pepper Market and ate there every day of our 7-day stay at CSR. We went in March and the only time it was busy was on a Saturday morning for breakfast. It is very easy to order. They have different food stations, you go to the one you want and order. They prepare your food and stamp your card. When you go to the cashier they determine what food you ordered from your card. You do not have to get your own drink, the waiters get them for you. We had chicken, mexican, pasta, bakery items, we tried just about everything they had and it was all good!!!

Buzz- thanx for your csr site :flower: It was what helped me choose CSR over CBR!! You have great pics and info!!! (Disney should start paying u..ur site is more informative than theirs lol :rotfl: )

Buzz ~ Thanks for the wonderful site! Your photos are breath taking!

DD and I enjoyed Pepper Market last year and now I plan on bringing my parents and DH there this year! I hope the meals are as great as they were last year.

Do you know if you can get a mixed drink at Pepper Market? Sometimes my dad likes a Martini and I have no idea if you can get anything other than beer and wine there.

I tried to call the chefs there and see what schedule they have to their Grill section specials but so far I have not been able to get through. We had Prime Rib once last year and it was great. I would love to catch that special again. :goodvibes

The Pepper Market is awesome. The food there is some of best at WDW. Being able to eat there is one of the reasons we go back to CSR every year. Some complain about the 10% gratuity but the food and service is worth it, we would leave that as a tip anyways. If you go there for breakfast try the breakfast burrito. It is excellent and very filling. After eating it i'm good to go until dinner time.
