We had to change our resort, we are staying at CSR for first time. Please share your experience at the Peppe Market? If you had kids, did they enjoy the selection?
Thanks

We stayed at CSR last year. We ate at Pepper Market a few times and we ate at the pool bar once. I had the chicken strips at the pool bar and the guys had burgers (I think, not sure). It was good for what it was. But I was pregnant so that might have something to do with that. Now, Pepper Market on the other hand we loved. Boyfriend had the hot wings and absolutely loved them. He can't wait to get more. I had a pizza that was meant for one. Definitely could have fed two. DS had quesadillas and loved them, which is big for him since he is a super picky kid. I know I had something other than pizza but cannot for the life of me remember what it was. We are planning a trip back next May and plan to stay at CSR again.

DS was 13 at the time of the trip. He has Asperger's Syndrome (a form of autism) so eats like a small child. He had no problem with the options there and they even made his quesadilla without the stuff he didn't want on it.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Loved it. Lots of selections, good food, plus the tiny little bakery/grocery area was nice.

Personally we love CSR but have never liked Pepper Market and the choices over the last few years have gone down substantially.

It is like anywhere else - depends what you like. To give you an idea of what my family would generally go for with counter service and how PM compares:-

DH loves seafood and salad - not a sweet tooth in sight. Would usually have a salad, pizza or burger at CS. PM does serve a really lovely cooked to order pizza but it is quite small - we usually share that and their ceasar salad for two cs credits.
Me - salad and pudding preferably at CS. Will make do with sharing as above but it is just if I need to eat - generally I'm a love to eat but not at PM. Puddings last year on DDP we were only allowed pastries, donuts or cookies. All were fine but not my idea of a good night out at WDW.
DS - pretty much eats anything. He struggles here though as the food is 'boring' and the previous mexican selection has just about disappeared. He got a 'steak' last year but sadly it turned out to be made out of Grumpy's boot leather.
DD - my fruit and meat girl. A plate of fruit is a child's cs credit which doesn't make her full. A chicken strip meal comes with a slice of apple and child-sized cookie. then Mum goes and [pays for another meal an hour later.

We like the pool bar - mainly because they don't do child meals (or didn't last year) so the kids can share a chicken strips and fries meal at lunch plus lays chips to take to the parks plus drink for a child cs credit.

We used to love MG breakfast but as the buffet has gone we have yet to see how we feel this trip.

Room service - highly recommend the KFC style chicken bucket with potato salad. Yummy.

thanks for sharing, I'm glad you liked the room service (did you order anything else with room service?)

No kids with us, but DH and I enjoyed it! We found many of the meals were big enough to share...knowing we'd be snacking in the parks :thumbsup2

Enjoy! We loved all of CSR!

Have eaten here twice: dinner in 2009 and breakfast this past June

I was not impressed either time. I was solo in 2009, but with some convention goers in June, we were all underwhelmed at breakfast. Did a midnight run to Perkins and we were much happier with that breakfast.

I thought the pastry choices looked better than they tasted. I'm much happier saving those calories for Main Street Bakery!

I did have a really tasty egg and cheese croissant sandwich at Cafe Rix, perhaps consider that CS for a quick breakfast or snack. You don't pay the 10% service charge at Rix that is automatic if you eat in at the Pepper Bar.

You can use your snack credit for the sweets. :goodvibes

I did! After getting checked in and in our room my son went up there to get something to eat and I got a piece of cake because it looked to yummy to pass up. It was too. :)

You have to wonder about anyone dining at Pepper Market expecting
a fine dining experience.

For us (2 adults) it was adequate.

We're going again in Oct. and will eat at Pepper Market again. Will it be a fine
diner's delight? No...but it will fulfill our dietary needs.

May I ask why you got that was not good.
Thanks

Poor service, undercooked tough fatty steak, dumbing down of menu over the past four years to cheaper food. Not allowed to get your own drinks last time I was there. Overall quality IMO is just average. Just a note that an outside company runs this operation and IMO you get what you pay for !!!
I did complain about the steak and they said it was ALL like this and offered me a pizza :scared1::scared1:

We have only ever ordered the chicken bucket as we liked it so much the first time we ordered it - have ordered different sides with it such as fries and salads.

My opinion is obviously only my opinion but when there are really great places to eat at WDW why would you choose to eat at PM?

We have and will probably do again on arrival night as we have been up for about 20 hours and had a 10 hour flight when we arrive but if you want to go somewhere with food I'd personally go to the pool bar or room service.

Have you seen the recent review over on the dining review thread. They really enjoyed their meal and I'm sure you'll enjoy the photos.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the opinion and I do appreciate people comments.
I do have an ADR for all breakfast (my son loves characters meals) and I do have alot of ADRs for lunch and dinner. But in our past Disney trips, my son napped and sometimes his naps was over 3 hours so we did not go back out to any parks so we tend to order room service. We were going to stay at YC but we had unexpected expenses so instead of cancelling the whole Disney trip I had to downgrade resorts. I'm not upset of the downgrade but worried about the eating part or ordering food for my son...it was easier having YC room service choices. We have been traveling more with him and he has been good of not napping so we might not worry about eating at the resort my husband. I'm just planning in case suitation...I'm a worry mom.
thanks for the information. :goodvibes

My family and I always try to make a trip to CSR to go to the Pepper Market...it has more of a selection than pretty much any other CSR and we've always enjoyed our meals. The only thing that is annoying is that you have a "server" who really does nothing but bring drinks and you have to tip them. That part is kinda ridiculous.
