Has anyone been there recently? How is the food? I know there have been some bad reviews, I am hoping it has improved.
Thanks in advance

We have eaten at Pepper Market many times...we stayed at CSR our last 3 trips & are returning in Aug. & love PM. People either love it or hate it. If you are on the DP, you don't have to pay the automatic 10% gratuity. I guess you know that you have to bring the ticket you're given to each station that you want food from. This is not a big deal at all except you do have to wait a bit if it's crowded at each station. Then there is the possibility that some people in your party will be back at the table w/ their food while you're still on line waiting to get yours. That to me is the only negative. (Other than PM is very expensive, IMO, if you're not on the DP.)We have found the food to be fresh & tasty. Here are photos of some food from our visit last August.

There is always a couple of "Specials of the Day" & this was one of them: Meatloaf with your choice of 2 sides. I chose green beans & mashed potatoes...delicious meal & a ton of food!

My dessert after the Meatloaf: Flan...very yummy, but couldn't finish it after that meal.

You can get sandwiches freshly made at one of the food stations. So my DS got Ham & Provolone. The CM offered to heat it & my son said it was delicious.

DS chose M&M cookie for dessert

Kid's meal: Chicken Tenders with bag of chips

Individual Pizza with Pepperoni & Sausage. These are also freshly made so you do have to wait for them.

We ate at the Pepper Market about 3 times last Sept/Oct. We did not like it at all. We thought the food was just fair and the setup with being seat, etc. silly. If we had to pay the 10% gratuity OOP we would NEVER do it. (we were on the DDP and it was included). We found it very hard to find someone to make our food every time we were there. It seems like it was poorly staffed and people maybe were supposed to cover more than 1 cooking station. It was really bad for us. On the whole we didn't care for CSR, and so far we think PM is one of the worst CS places we've been to. It's on our "not to do again" list.

Have been to CSR four times and while we love the resort and the (old) Maya Grill breakfast buffet we have never had a good meal at PM.

Last trip we were on ddp for first time and thought we might find it better as we were getting good value for money as a cs. Nope still think it is a waste of time and the food is worse than that at the pool bar. The only reasonable thing we ever have there is the pizza and caesar salad (1 cs each and then we split). The kids meals are appalling. Who wants a main meal of chicken dippers with a packet of chips. Not in our home. The variety of fruit and mexican offerings have also declined over the years. As for breakfast would rather not eat to be completely honest.

My understanding is the 10% is just recently no longer included in the DP
it was when were there in Oct
but I have been reading there is a sign now and they are pointing it out that its not included
