peoples visa concerns

Oh my god..was reading the trip advisor posts this evening and am really concerned about the number of people still waiting for visas to be issued..one family have had to cancel their holiday due to 6 month wait for partners visa. They had interview back in feb at embassy in london..why is this..???

You just need a visa waiver.

It's an instant decision for most people as long as you don't have a criminal record.

6 months wait sounds more like a Visa to move to the US, not just go on holiday.

Is there a reason you need a visa?

No dont need one myself. We all got visa waiver online. Just found it really hard to believe that families with crimal records are having to wait this long (6 months) and putting their hols in jepordy...
I thought it was just a case that you went to embassey with paperwork and they say yes or no to travel... One family said they had a yes from london and are still waiting for visa to actually come back... Why the wait..? What happens in the months after london say yes..
