So the last time we were at MK the peoplemover was up and down, and I've seen posts since then saying that's been the case recently. Has anything improved? Is it any more reliable? If not maybe we should leave it until near the end of the day in case there's a problem

Never leave anything for late in the day if it's important to you.

We were there on a high crowd day a month ago. They still had orange cones keeping a bunch of the cars empty, in spite of lines going into the extended queue. No idea specifically what's up with it. But I've heard reports of the orange cones from others as well.

It's not too important but we don't want to be stuck for a long time. Maybe that's just cost-cutting? Don't know if that has to do with reliability. Thanks for the response

How? Peoplemover doesn't have fastpasses ro begin with.

If you're stuck on a ride a really long time, they may give you a paper FP+ for your inconvenience...but it has to be to the point where you have to be evacuated from it.

We were just in WDW the past two weeks. It went down during bad weather, and we saw a few sporadic stoppages (i.e. it stopped for a minute, but then started), but we didn't see any prolonged down times. However, it does seem to go down somewhat often. I'm told it's a bad guest issue more than a mechanical issue.

I have been riding the People mover for 35 years. Usually multiple times a visit. I have never been on it when it wasn't working or even stopped during the circle. I'm starting to think that I must go to a WDW in a parallel universe because I have never even been on any ride that we had to be walked off of.

We were stuck on it and had to be evacuated. They gave us FPs good for a choice of one of several Eticket rides. As PP said, it’s a goodwill gesture for your inconvenience.

We actually enjoyed being stuck. We had a a perfect view of the night time parade (yep they did ha e them at one time) and the fireworks. Actually the best viewpoint we’ve ever had.

This is not always the case! I was stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean for 45 minutes last summer. A cast member even had to get in the water and push our boat to an area where we could be evacuated. Everyone on my boat was given a free Mickey ice cream bar and a bottled water. No FPs. :/

It's a Bucket List for us! ::yes:: So far it has not happened.

It’s never been an issue while I’ve been at WDW. The ramp that goes up to the load is very hot or miss though.

The People Mover is one of my favorite rides! lol sad I know, but I enjoy the change of pace, the time to digest the park and its scenery and take a breath!

We go on it everytime we are in the park and love it! Especially at night.

I don't think I have ever been on it and it hasn't broke down for at least a short period of time! Not surprising if you think about it, so many electro-magnets needing to be controlled with precise timing with multiple cars on the track etc.. We got stuck once in the tunnel to Space Mountain! That was a little freaky for the kids lol

Don't apologize, Smittolis--we love that ride in our family, and it's a multi generational love affair. It's such a relaxing change of pace, the babies love it, the grandparents love it--it's just a neat ride. I fantasize about being able to go to work on a peoplemover! That would be a nice commute!

We have never been "stuck" on it, but it has been down when we've been.

We've been riding Peoplemover forever. A couple of years ago we were hit by another car. Thankfully nobody was hurt but we had to be walked off after being stuck for awhile. So it does happen.

Thanks for all the responses

Last September it came to a stop when I was going up the moving ramp, and the ramp came to a sudden stop while I was holding my toddler, I was very glad I was holding on to the handrail or I would've probably fallen over. The ride then stopped again while we were on it. Both stoppages were only for a few minutes. It was restarted by maintenance IIRC.

lol here is a video I took of one of the times I was last there.... enjoy the watch for all those that like the ride, at 6mins 43 seconds in you hear the dreaded 'this ride has stopped temporarily' lol

That is a recent problem though, or at least it has only been recently that I encountered it. It is surprising how steep that ramp is.

I don't want to jinx anything but neither have we. Our trips are usually every few years either during Thanksgiving Week or the beginning of Dec.
