People with DVD players...Question for ya

Is there such a thing as wide screen movies for dvd players or is there a way you can adjust a wide screen movie to fit your full tv screen??
I think I bought shrek in wide screen version, but it doesn't say it anywhere on the box....I don't want to open it up and then have them tell me I can't returned a opened package...

Shep - there ARE wide screen versions of DVDs. Sometimes you get both on the DVD. Sometimes you have to get a widescreen version. It SHOULD tell you on the box. At least I THINK so...

When I ordered it off of BestBuy.com I think for some reasons I got the ws version but it doesn't say anything on the box...I guess it isn't then...

The Shrek DVD includes both widescreen and fullscreen presentations; you can watch whichever one you prefer.

I have yet to hook the dvd player up to the tv....It's a Christmas gift...well actually so is shrek...

Also if you look on the back it should tell you if it's a 4:3 ratio aspect (full screen) or 16:9 (widescreen).

In the chart on the back of Shrek's package, you'll find that Disc 1 includes 1.33:1 (full frame) and Disc 2 includes 1.78:1 (anamorphic widescreen).

I've found that if it isn't clearly marked on the top of the cover, then sometimes both versions are included on that disc.

If it's one or the other, I always buy the wide screen version.

Many of our DVD's have both.

There is a section called "screen set up" or something similar and you can choose which you want.

Our BIG problem is I like wide-screen and the kids don't
