Yesterday I got a letter from People to People. I was invited to go to China for two and a half weeks. This isn't the first time I've been invited to do this. I was invited to go to the UK last year, and D.C. three times.

every year since the 4th grade.
i've gotten australia,france,england,scotland,ireland,greece,germany,and a couple of others.
it's all just a big scam really.

my friend did do a trip by them once and said the only highlight was visiting where they shot harry potter.
idk if that's true or not, but it sounded like a bore to me.

Yeah, I got invited to England/France last year. But now I'm going to France w/ french class in March, and London w/ band in dec., so it all worked out.

I think I got invited to go to Italy this summer, too.

Nahh.
People round here just do exchange programs.
I know a girl from Germany, and a guy from Brazil who go to my school currently.
And people from China always come down and learn here.

when i was in public school most of my realy good friends got invites
grade wise i was in the middle and i never got one
i would go if i got the chance though

Hm. This is all very interesting.
Quite a few kids from my school got invited to go to the UK.

My mom won't let me go to anything. So, it's fun getting the letters anyway.

I've never been invited by People 2 People, but I've been put on lists for Rotary Youth Leadership Conferences. I've been invited to an international teen foreign relations conference in the Swiss Alps. I've been invited to DC, New York, and Boston to study french, writing, and international relations for the summer. I've also been invited to St. Paul's which is a prestigious summer academy program. Only the top 10% in certain schools get invited.

I've also been mailed by a ton of colleges that want me to go check out their school.

I've been getting these letters since I was 4 years old. Every year since then, I've gotten one delivered to my grandparent's house where I haven't lived since I was 5. I was oh' so curious which teacher of mine recommended me for these trips when I was 4 and not in school.

I got handed one by my grandpa a week ago.

That being said, I've heard stories of people going and having a great time but it is something that I would never do or allow my children do.

I was refering to the People to People invites. It sounds like you are referencing the college invites which I have also been getting since PSAT time. If you were also talking about PtP, then we obviously have had very different experiences.
