People that try to be funny but aren't.

How do you react to them? Smile politely (but secretly roll your eyes), ignore, feel sorry for them, get annoyed.

I think some people try to hard to be funny but aren't. I always feel kinda bad for them because I think it's how they feel they will be accepted. What do you think?

"Funny" is pretty subjective. I just smile and move on. Maybe their style humor just isn't for me.

It depends on who the person is, what his relationship is to me, and the situation. If the person thinks he's being funny, like funny enough to audition for "last comic standing" or something like that, and nobody else thinks he's funny, I'd probably tell him.

(i.e,, racist, sexist, etc)...I just smile vaguely at the attempt at humor. I think when someone jokes around it's an attempt at being friendly. OTOH, if it's off-color or inappropriate, I have no problem NOT responding and hope that they get the message

We have quite a few that pass by my desk at work who think they are funny and they aren't. I grab the phone as soon as I see them coming and pretend I'm talking to some one.

We may all be married to the same man. With DH I try to smile vaguely. I sometimes groan in protest, but he thinks that a "groaner" is humorous. If I'm in a really bad mood with him, I roll my eyes.

Other people, I just smile a little smile, and let it go.

Hopefully this will be your last cold winter and you'll be toasty warm in Florida for all the rest. I hope the house sells really soon.

I'm doing good, thanks. Joe and I had a nice little 4 day cruise on the Wonder a few weeks ago. Just him and me for a change. It was nice.
