I am a recovering annorexic.I discharged from the hospital tuesday and the parentals plan to do wdw in nov. If there is anyone else ot there struggling with an e.d. plese tell me how you have done disney dinng. I am desperate!:scared:

I don't struggle with an E.D. , but go into each meal with confidence that you will make it through what you ordered. And don't eat at The prime Time Cafe in MGM.

My parents think I have been starving myself which I do eat, but only when I am really really hungry. At Disney, I just ordered the food that I know I would really like. It helped alot knowing that what you are going to eat is food that you actually do like.

Why single out that particular place? Is it because occaisonally the waiters try and make you eat all your veggies? Trust me, if you look at them seriously, they'll stop.

A lot of other places has huge portions at WDW.

To get through it, work hard. That's all I have to say.

I have not ever had an eating disorder.
Yes, I've had problems with eating in general.
The last time I was in Disney/Orlando, I had a hard time eating because I always felt sick. For no reason. Food just wasn't appealing.
But I'd try hard and eat most of my meal, which I could do.
I say, just eat what you think you can. Start small, and work your way up.
Say, instead of ordering a full course meal, just order an appetizer for dinner (I do this all the time because appetizers can be almost as big as a normal plate).

I singled that place out for that reason, yes. For a person with an E.D. they do not want to be harassed about eating. Sometimes it is hard enough for them to even have the food sit in front of them.

i never sufferd from a eating disorder but when i was in hospital a couple of days ago there where leaflets around the place on aneroxia- u av just got to try ure hardest and pull threw it. im sure when u go to disney you will order the whole menu. there is also a teen programme on over here and thats currently about aneroxia- a girl aged 17 is aneroxia and her parents are trying to help her but she wont let them.i admire you for getting help cause a lot of people wont do that.

I am glad to hear that you are recovering from the ED. How exciting that you get to visit WDW in a few months! It must be a bit anxiety-provoking to think about dining while there, though, in your situation. It's good that you have a couple more months to get used to eating normally again.

I have never done any table service dining in WDW, so I don't know exactly what to suggest. Maybe like some people have said, you should try ordering an appetizer at first. Don't feel like you have to finish everything on your plate. Start with small things - maybe (if it is allowed), share an entree with one of your parents?

I wish you the best in your recovery!!

Well i don't suffer from an E.D, i was so very close but that's a different story, however last time i went to WDW i could not eat the thought of food repulsed me, on the days i managed to eat i just threw it all back up.

Sweetie i won't lie it's going to be quite hard. If you want and can eat then it's very easy as the food is so scrummy if you don't want to or can't then it's so very hard. Try just getting an appetizer, try healtier options so you don't feel so bad to begin with. Please remember that if you're eating off the adults meal don't expect to finish your meal, the portions are usually hhuuuuggeee, hell even when i was perfectly healthy my plates went back looking barely touched(and that comes from a kid who eats her own body-weight daily)

I know that.

Haha, yup that's true. I feel so shameful when my plate looks like it's barely been touched, but I'm so full I can barely move. Oh well. :)
