maybe you could do the boston tea party, because of all the protests surronding the tea party now-a-days

It would probably be easier to break up a person into an essay than an event because you could give biographical info in the first body paragraph and then explain what they did in 1 or 2 other body paragraphs, then there influences in another 1 or 2 paragraphs and then the conclusion and boom there's your essay. I just remembered I didn't do Waco, I did Jackie Robinson lol. My teacher wanted me to do Waco but I came up with an idea that was much easier/more interesting to me and got a good grade on it.

How about.... Walt Disney?

He shaped the world of entertainment as we know it. He was the first to make successful use of synchronized sound. He created the multi-plane camera. He was the first to successfully mix live action and animation. He created the first feature-length animated film. And don't forget Disneyland or the Florida Project!

you could look at some revolutions, like the french or russian revolutions

Look at some genocides. Those are always influential.

The Armenian Genocide.
The Holocaust (obviously).
The Rwandan Genocide.


Those are very influential topics and they're not that old.
