People mover refurb dates?

Does anyone know the details about the refurb schedule for People Mover? We ride that at least 6 times every trip. My girls love it. I've seen 2 refurb dates - one says that it is already finished as of 3/27 and open again. The other says it is scheduled for 5/3. Since we are hitting town on 5/7 fingers crossed it is the former.

Having just got back from WDW (28th-31st), unless the refurb was minor mechanical work, nothing noticeable has been done to it.

In fact, several of the cars had safety cones inside or the doors didn't open because they were a mess.

The recent reports of the refurb suggest it was pushed back and it's now on 5/3.

Hopefully it's getting a major face-lift though! It really needs some TLC.

I've found several other sites quoting the 5/3 - 6/30 dates now as well. Apparently it was moved to conincide with Astro Orbiter refurb. My kids will definitely be disappointed. They always make me do the "Now entering Space Mountain" voice that used to happen some years ago. Looks like that tradition will have to wait for the September trip

On allearsnet.com it does not show it in the refurb section, also I heard Astro blaster could be closed during that time, any info would be great

Astro orbiter is going down for a long refurb in May. The people mover was supposed to go down in march for a refurb but that was pushed back to coordinate with the Astro orbiter because they are going to be doing a lot of work on the Astro orbiter. The people mover is supposed to now go down May 3rd for about a month or so mainly for work on the Astro orbiter, but the people mover will get some paint and some cleaning as it's needed. Sorry to the OP as it seems they will not be able to ride the people mover.

We went in April 2012 and BTMR was down for refurb and we were disappointed. I can't explain it but for some really silly reason we are more dejected about the People Mover being closed for our trip this time. Funny how that works. The PM was one of those little "breaks" we always like. I think our kids like it because it is one of the few rides where they can sit by themselves without a mom or dad next to them.

Oh, no! My family gets there 5/24. My sister and I always ride the TTA first and then we continue to ride it way too many times the rest of the trip. It's one of our favorites.

We were "evacuated" from the people mover this past Tuesday. It stopped right beside Space Mountain. I never noticed the stairways before but now I know what they are there for. They did give us a paper fast pass for our trouble.
I hope the refurb fixes the problems!

Sounds like we'll be missing my favorite "ride", we'll be there end of May & the 1st 2 weeks of June. Guess I'll have to ride the Carousel of Progress when my "Dogs" are barking & need a rest!!

Don't want to give too much false hope, but looking at DisneyWorld.com, it looks like the TTA and Astro Orbiter refurbs may have been postponed to a start date on June 2 (lucky for us considering our MK day is June 1). This applies for both, but I can't quite nail an end date. It seems to be sometime around mid September for Astro, but can't tell for TTA. Regardless, this may be a glitch, but I'm pretty confident about this info. Last year, a Carousel refurb was scheduled during our trip, but I saw on the Disney site that it had been postponed, and a week or so later, the postponement showed on WDWMAGIC and other Disney sites.

Are there any TAs out there who can confirm this change on the TA refurb calendar. Thanks!
