you ever go down south and see these giant bugs, and they act like its nothing, and your ready to scream and run for the ocean :rotfl:

That made me laugh because last night I let a giant buzzy bug into my house and had to chase it down. We do get some big-uns!

Yep, cockroaches!

Moved to TX from MI 3 years ago and I still can't handle them. If I find one during the day, I throw a blanket or box over it and wait for DH to get it when he comes home from work!

I won't walk into a darkened room, I have to turn the lights on first. Learned that the hard way by walking into the bathroom in the middle of the night, stepping on a cockroach and waking the whole house with my screams. :scared1:

Those things are nasty, disgusting little suckers and scare the **** out of me!

the south is so nice, but it always shocks me the size and the amount of the bugs, see if you all would below 0 for a couple months, they would die :rotfl:

This is the only thing that would stop me from moving down south.

Lord bugs are nothing! We've been seeing snakes left and right this year, is anyone else seeing snakes everywhere? And supposedly they are biting a lot more frequently due to the extreme heat.

I act all tough but only because my oldest DD has a severe bug phobia. She freaks out from the little stink bugs or daddy long legs that we have here. As of right now, she won't even go in her room because she swears there is a stink bug hiding and waiting to attack her. I'm dreading to see what happens when we go to FL this year.

A little ol' palmetto bug ain't nothin'. A least, compared to the 3 ft. Copperhead, I killed, a couple of weeks ago.

Thank goodness I have never seen any on Disney property. I would probably faint if I did.

Go to the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse...at night! The big roaches will be crunching under your feet!! I learned my lesson!

I am a Disneyland girl and I must admit I hesitate about going to WDW because of the bugs/snakes/alligators I am afraid I may come across in Florida :rotfl:

Yep! Crunch, crunch, crunch!
And many in the South will tell you that the large cockroaches are "water bugs" or "Palmetto bugs." They are cockroaches, People. They are much larger than the German and Asian cockroaches and don't reproduce nearly as rapidly, but they are roaches!

We was watching the electric light parade from the WDW Railway station entrance at the top, anyway the station building was closed and when I looked through the window there were loads of huge roaches scuttling across the floor!! Yuk, don't like, but its something that you see a lot. (just sent a shiver down my spine)!!:confused3

:faint:

*shudder*

Off to go read a happy post before bed so I don't dream of the roaches..

Those giant roaches are called "Tree Roaches" down here.

Here's a fun fact about them....They have wings and can fly short distances. Yes, yes the can. There's nothing like a giant, 2 inch cockroach flying straight at your face. Now that'll give you nightmares for the rest of your life!

I've been here for over 20 years now and I still scream like a lunatic when I see one. I really miss the north...

Note to self: NEVER live south of 45 degrees north. I hate roaches and I don't like sketchy snakes. As a matter of fact, I'm just not going to leave my Oregon suburb. We get garter snakes (although I've never seen any) and dragonflies. There aren't really dangerous, scary bugs and snakes. I'm sure someone has roaches around here, but I've never seen or heard of anyone seeing any so idk.
