People finder site

Are there any people finder sites you guys might recommend? I know some or all cost something usually and that's fine (free would be better though). I've been trying to friend my best friend from grade school. So far I've had no luck on Classmates.com site and some similar so I figure one of those background check type sites might help me more.

Suggestions anyone?

whitepages.com, you can do a reverse phone number search or reverse address search.

also try zabasearch.com although most of their info in not updated enough

I have been wanting to find a college friend that I lost touch w/ about 9 years ago. There are SO many "people finder" sites & I'd like to find a reliable one.

I have been trying to find a friend from 8th grade for a long time. She lived in NJ then New Orleans. I only had contact number for her mom in PA who has since passed away. Its hard to find someone after they get married as I dont know her married name. I always wondered what happened after Hurricane Katrina as the last I heard she was married and had 3 daughters and had a huge beautiful home right outside of New Orleans.

Try myspace. I found a lot of people I went to high school with. If not maybe classmates.

try going to yahoo and fallow these steps:
Type in your state and criminal record search.

If your lucky your state has open records. For me, I looked up a old freind on the wisconsin site. well, i couldnt find him, so i looked up his brother (praying they still lived together) well, I found a warrent on his brother, and a speeding ticket for his sister. The two of them were both listed at the same address so I figured they all lived there. I was wrong, his mom lived there but gave him my note and number. So if you cant find your freind, try finding his or her mother, father, sister or relitive.

i second zabasearch.com. some results you can get for free, but much more detailed info you would have to pay for. But address, phone, & sometimes birth month & year....are all free. Enough to make some phone calls or writing asking if the correct person.

I used it alot in my prior job, & I always had good results. Google has removed alot of that stuff. You can no longer get someones name & phone # simply by googling. Well, that is, unless THEY posted it somewhere like a message board.

Also, from my job, I know you can search public records IF you know where they lived. You can search mortgage info & deeds (see the documents themselves). But that probably won't help you FIND them.
