People Complain About Vmk Removing Party Hats?

I'm not trying to start drama so please don't flame. It seems vmk can't do the right thing when removing items from shops? It's always to early or to late. (sorry if my grammar sucked they might be too) Maybe vmk was answering your wants and tried to make an item actually rare? Yes it was a special day but haven't we learned anything with the Fourth of July hat? Don't forget St. Patrick's day pin. So vmk was trying to do there part in making something rare or not to common.

I have to thank a Dis'r I met during a new years party for gifting me a hat or I would of never got one because I had 35 credits and it was 2 a.m for me, no way was I hitting the games. So thanks you made my vmk new years.

If I remember correctly they did the same with the Mad Hatter hat last New Years eve also.
It is a tradition thing I guess like signing on to get your New Yers pin.
At least they ade them tradeable! lol

I totally understand what you are saying...and I'm not flaming, lol, but wanted to add that a high percentage of the ppl who were "complaining" about the party hat being gone were those who could not log in due to all the problems on vmk on New Year's Eve. As well as those who were logged in but had that problem of not being able to buy anything. I bought 2 hats in the morning, luckily, bc later on my daughter and I could not buy anything. When I tried to trade one hat to her, it took 3 tries and I had to leave the room twice and re-enter before it finally worked. so, in this case I guess a lot of dissapointment was from those who were actually on or who were trying to log in and had all the technical problems.

I'm glad someone gifted you a hat and I really do wish I had bought more earlier in the day so I would have had extra to share!!!

I don't think the complaint was that it was only for one day (they did the same thing the year before). I believe the issue is that there was a glitch that prevented ppl from shopping although they had enough credits. People felt that the sale of the hat should have been extended due to the vmk glitch.

The Mad Hatter hat last year was on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. I know this because I was not able to sign on last NYE, but was able to New Year's Day and was still able to buy several of those.

Here's the issue I have with this New Year's Party hat. That evening, I gave away 3 hats because there were players who didn't have them or the credits to get them. Big deal, 3 grand, right? I made some people happy & I didn't want anything in return for them.

So here's the kicker. VMK was having issues that night. Some people were getting dc from the game & couldn't get back on. I went to the emporium to purchase some more of them, but it said I had NO credits. I had PLENTY of credits to buy lots of hats. So, I sent a message to VMK stating my displeasure. The response:

Hello, did they read what I wrote? I told them it was on New Year's Eve & for the party hat. How could I still be having this issue? They REMOVED the item!!!

I know completely that this is not the point of your post, but...
I was not able to purchase a hat on New Years and (due to last year) thought I'd get it on New Years Day. It was gone.

I have since managed to get my hat as well as 1 for a friend who was on during the evening, but could not get back in after dc'ing, therefore never got a hat.

I traded for 1 more this morning. I know you gave yours to other players. If you do not have 1 for yourself, this one is yours. Let me know.

This is exacly what happened to me I was buying last munute objects before I got everyone and myself to bed and It said that I had no credits it was about 3am to 4am here I wasn't going to stress out over that so I logged of and I couldn't get back in I tried and triend I waited about an hour I was too tired to still be waiting and I wasn't hable to buy any reeindeer or snowman hats bc I was so tied in credits before and managed to buy only 1 party hat during the day.

I won't make an issue about this bc I should've got the hats before the last minute but if VMK wouldn't have crashed alot of ppl(including myself) would've been hable to get the hat that was released and things that they didn't buy during the month

But you know this is just a game no need for us to stress out over virtual objects that in the near future may come back

You all have made very good points. I know on webkinz you have to log on that day to get the special box. I didn't get to log during thanksgiving and missed a cool hat so I guess I know how it is to miss something.

I tried for a long time to get onto VMK in the wee hours of January 1st, but the game was down and I couldn't get in.

I emailed Contact Us and asked for the hat and the confetti magic that I would have gotten if I could have logged on.

The response from VMK_Shorty was: "Thank you for contacting VMK. Sometimes we have to close VMK for a short while during the opening hours."

No hat or confetti.
