people are going crazy at my campus.

so far, this semester:

two students have been stabbed by hypodermic needles in the change slots of vending machines

two students have been raped and or assaulted at frat parties

a dorm was broken into, by two armed robbers (who still haven't been caught)

and a man committed suicide by fire, across the street from campus.


i'm so ready for christmas vacation.

yes. they were placed in the coin slot, and the people who were struck with them were reaching for their change.

its so crazy. i cannot fathom the thought process of someone who would do that.

So am i they had to give me valium and laughing gas just to poke me with one needle to put me to sleep Wednesday

I rarely use vending machines now that rare times i do im gonna poke it open with a pencil and check it out before i reach in.

I heard on the news at a kohls store someone had left needles in a pair of shorts after trying them on in the dressing room.

the craziest part is my campus is in a good part of town, and completely not ghetto. but all this crazy stuff keeps happening.

one of the rapists on greek row wasn't even a student (and neither was the woman who was raped. she was underage, and attending a party, and she got drunk and this older guy raped her) and the man who committed suicide wasn't a student, and no one knows who the two robbers were.

i don't live on campus, so i feel safe in my apartment. and the semester is almost over. (3 more days of classes)

and i can call the police to walk to me to my car, for night classes. and if anyone gets near my car i'll probably just run them over.

i don't use the vending machines or anythign like that, and i don't go to the 'deserted' parts of campus, ever.

We have so many campus police it would be hard for someone to do that at my school....

The only thing crazy that's happened at my campus is the other day some guy was on a city bus with a gun and a grenade and the police shot him to death. I got a call from our system thing that said to evacuate the area immediately, so that was pretty scary. I still don't know what it was about; they're investigating.

Usually my campus is very safe though.

That's nutty! I, too, would live in constant fear if that were me. I'm constantly paranoid about things like that happening. School shootings scare be beyond belief though. I've not been the same in regards to school shootings since Virginia Tech.

over the summer when i was here for orrientation, they evaced the uc because they thought someone had a gun. i wasn't on campus that day, so i don't know how it all panned out.

we have tons of campus police, and we have police boxes all over campus. which makes it even weirder that all of this stuff keeps happening.

That's what my sister did when her car wasn't working. She had to walk back from work (on campus) or classes sometimes at night. So she'd call the campus police if her bf was working. They'd come and walk her to her building.

There's this old pysch ward in that city, and her friend was driving past it. He had to stop at a redlight and this women in a white looking sleep gown thing ran up to his door. Beating on it, and screaming.

It turns out she had escaped from the building and was trying to get away. He called the cops, so I guess they eventually found her and returned her??

Dude you're freaking me out now! I finally learnt how to pump gas last week, and the whole time I was freaking out at having to touch that nasty handle. I brought hand sanitizer.
