Pentax dropped the price of their mirrorless camera $200 yesterday to $346.95. At that price, I would think it will sell quickly. I can only assume that it was not selling up to expectations at 546.95 and this is an attempt to find the correct price point. For those not familar with the Pentax lineup, I have included the wikipedia page.

Interesting...That's a nice price for a camera with the D7000 sensor. I think a lot of the mirrorless problem has been too high of a price point, so its good to see more options.

That's body only, so its in the same range as the NEX5N body only (I think I've been seeing the NEX in the $370 range)

Interesting. Compelling price point on a rather advanced mirrorless. But that's without a lens.

So with Sony selling the Nex5N for about $499 with a lens, or the Pentax for $350ish without a lens..... I wonder which people would consider to be the better camera at the better value.

With a 40mm pancake lens its $446.95. For us Pentax shooters all our lenses work without the need for an adapter. Trust me, I don't recommend cameras. I only point out what's available and let the buyer choose. That is why I attached the webpages. Anyone can read, do their own research and choose what works best for them. I am not a fanboy of any particular brand because we all have our particular needs. I shoot Pentax for my reasons.

Just we are on the same page here and not giving out bad information, I noticed that the Nex5n has been discontinued. There are some packages still available for your quoted price, but at B & H they no longer carry the body. The replacement appears to be the 5R at a cost of $698. I am not a Sony user so please correct this information if it is incorrect. Just looking at the 5R, it does have the articulating screen if that is important to a user. I don't know if the 16.1 mp sensor is the same as the 01 or an updated version.

Just to be forthcoming, I don't know the future of the K-01 system. This could be a move to eliminate stocks and then discontinue the camera. Only Pentax Ricoh knows.

That is all correct. The 5N was recently discontinued, and they dropped the price to $500 to clear out inventory. And now they dropped the price of the K-01, not sure if it is clearance as well. Or just that it wasn't selling well. I believe you can still find the 5N for $500.

As they are now similarly priced, I would suggest people in the market for a mirrorless, look at both of these cameras.

There is a rumor. However it is just a rumor... With a lot of hope by some...

I've been shooting with the Nex for a while and love it. The Nex 5n shares the same sensor as the D7000, K5/K01. The 5R is a new sensor that includes PDAF pixels on the sensor like Canon did with the T4i. The one thing great about the K01 is that it takes any Pentax lens to date + it has IBIS. It is crazy that mirrorless cameras cost just as much as DSLR's.
