Anyone have word on the progress on the I-10 construction work in P'cola to rebuild the bridge wiped out by the hurricane?

Lots of us will be eastbound from Louisiana in a few weeks. Just wondering what type of delays we should expect. Any advice on time of day to avoid the area?

Any time-saving tips from Florida residents who travel the area frequently?

TIA!

I know one side re-opened to two-way traffic within a few weeks of the destruction. I was hoping someone had passed through recently & had some insight.

Thanks ALostBoy! Just the type of info I needed.

Looks like typical construction-related delays. Hope they won't be too bad when we pass through.

East bound is a single lane over temporary bridge spans at some point, some places it is the original bridge. West bound is two lanes, no temporary bridges. I heard that the FL legislature just approved the funding for rebuilding the bridge. We drove over the bridge east bound on 1/7 about 8:30AM and there was no slowdown. We returned over the bridge on 1/16 at about 6:30PM and there was no slowdown at all.

traffic is moving and only minor delays. Its only one lane across eastbound but its not too bad. The worst time is after 5 when everyone gets off work.

Thanks everyone!

Bumping :jumping4: for fellow Dis'ers who'll be following us next weekend!
