Does anyone know if there is some official listing of locations for the penny presses?

We let our kids do them on our last trip and they loved it! It turned out to be a cheap alternative to all those other souveneirs they wanted.

Each child got 20 pennies this last trip, and we would love to be able to have a list/map to check off the places we've been.

Thanks everyone!

Just stop by Guest Relations at any of the 4 parks and they will give you an updated print out of all the penny press machine's locations. -Steph

I had forgotten all about the penny press machines!!!

Those will be perfect things for my kids to seek out and collect.

Alos, if they collect pennies throughout the day they won't feel like they are leaving the park empty handed.

So..... Are there any books or binders that hold the pennies after they are pressed???

I seem to remember (from my trips in 01) that you either want the real shinny pennies or the dull ones. Which make the best press?

Thanks!

Actually, the lists at Guest Relations are outdated (at least they were in Dec.), and allears has the same list. For the most part, they're still accurate, but new designs were recently added to some machines, and some machines were added also. The current list (12/04) can be found here:

shari2shop, they sell books for the pressed coins, but I don't know the specifics for them, we didn't buy them. As far as the old vs. new pennies, it's a matter of preference. We used the old pennies, but cleaned them in vinegar.

angel's momma..... the link didn't work :(

shari2shop...... we purchased the books at the disney store at DTD. They were 6.50 each. We purchsed them in Dec 04.

When we go the kids have their preset amount of money to spend. So we gave them to penny books are presents from Mom & Dad. You could put them in a gift basket to start the trip off.

We used both old and new pennies.. whatever was in the roll. The kids didn't have a preference for either.

Use the older pennies that are all copper (without the zinc). They "smoosh" better. "Dirty" vs. shiny is a personal preference. I've found the oxidized ones can sometimes show the detail better than the shiny ones.

I find older ones work better as well. We do penny presses at all the hotels we stay at on Disney property. They have them in gift shops usually. We just got back and added to the collection from the CBR....

They will for sure have a new series of designs for the 50th Celebration spread out all over the property...good luck, it's time consuming but fun.
